What point are you trying to make? Maybe I missed a post somewhere but what does a Corvette filter have to do with this subject?

I am not trying to make any point at all. Just an example. Corvette, small block chevy, whatever. The Napa Gold is made better than other filters. Thats all.

That is a big brush you have, to say all of them are made by WIX.

I do not belive that is correct, but I could be wrong.

I could have sworn I have seen a Mahle or a Mann Stamp on some of there European filters.

Oh I see. BTW, after re-reading my post it sounded a little harsh. That wasn't my intention. I was just confused as to why you posted that info.

You could be right about that. I have never had the need to buy a European filter from Napa. I know they used to have their domestic filters made by WIX. This came directly from a representative of WIX. And I am correct about the numbering system.

in a pinch you can always use a VW 2.0l filter, same filter, just a bit shorter. any dealer or indi shop will have them...

My '86 came with a NAPA filter which was much smaller than the OEM.
