There is a bit of snowfall happening in the DFW area as I type. It may be a good day to grab some pics of her in the snow, although the white on white won't provide much contrast.

Welcome to my (our) world Ed the big diff being you'll be back driving in a month; both the car and the clubs.

I ventured out to a local lake yesterday (it warmed to -2C) and drilled through 2' of ice to drop my line in..............at least there's 3 trout in the smoker today.

Drive safe out there, especially you folks who don't typically have 'winter' weather.

Malcom, you're totally wrong...I'll be driving tomorrow, I hope!

We've not been above freezing since last Saturday, Monday was in the 20's during the day with a bitter north wind. I got "brain freeze" while walking the dog. I know I'm preaching to choir here, but this is frigging cold for us. The kicker here is that I dropped by Roger's house on Friday, and we were both in shorts and t-shirts at 70 degrees. Dallas is strange in the Winter. Summer, we pretty much can bank on it being hot.

I drive a 99 long bed Chevy Silverado as my daily driver (company truck) and this thing has zero traction in ice/snow/slush. It sleeted all night down here (Waco/Hewitt). I threw a 50 pound bag of sand and a 120 pound set of weights from an old weight bench in the back of the bed for traction. Helped a little. Still hairy on the way in to work though. I've lived in Texas since I was 5. So yea, I'm a lightweight when it comes to winter driving skill. It's very rare for central Texas to stay below freezing 24 hrs a day for a few days. Temps down here are supposed to be back up in the 40's by the weekend.

When March comes along and we're still garaged that's when we really start bouncing off the walls.

Spent quite a bit of time in Carrollton; your weather changes faster than ours; wicked thunder storms.

I had to use a heat gun this morning to be able to unlock the 928's door because it was frozen.

I've been out and about. My car loves cold weather. It starts right up, warms up fast and runs great. Breathing cold intake air really makes it frisky. Just have to be light-footed and watch out for the other guy!

Ice storm down here north of Houston. Schools are closed. I'm working from home today so I haven't been out to experience the roads - but I am sure they are ok

Mine's sitting in the drive collecting snow. Chilling story from Monday. I went skiing in NM and on the way back we started to hit ICE on the road around the TX border. It was icy all the way from west of Sweetwater to Arlington. Driving through sleet and ice pellets, along I-20 at night with a 25-30MPH north wind. We saw at least 100 big trucks, campers, SUVs, cars and even a few service trucks in the ditch. Most were on their side. One spun out right in front of us, but kept it on the wheels.

Anyone that doesn't believe me, Curry was sitting right seat and can verify. Very unpleasant. Luckily, after 6-7 brews, the carnage doesn't affect me too much. We stopped several times because the windshield iced over, and the wipers were frozen. When we got to the metroplex, the whole truck was one big icicle from bumper to tailgate.

Doc; the 'iceman' cometh.

I've been out in the boxster here in Austin. Overpasses seem to be in rough shape, parts of I-35 are closed and the (7!) sanding trucks we have are working overtime. Local roads are fine though, just wet. No driving problems at all, though most of the city seems shut down. Easy to be a little tail happy. Everyone be safe out there!

Ben
