The -C numbers are common too as some competitive overclockers use liquid nitrogen to cool their CPU and GPUs along with some users using phase change cooling (imagine a AC evaporator as a metal plate mounted flush to your CPU).

Anyway, this isn't a PC forum, but there shouldn't be any issues with CPU thermal compound so long as you replace it every 3 years or so to keep it fresh.
Sounds good but no one will change it every 3 years. It needs to last for the life of the car.

I've left mine on for 7 years on my CPU, so far no problems. Realistically you could run it for over 10 years no problem, 3 was just the average change time on most computers.

So what paste should be used. Hoping I can source something locally as my amps arrived sans paste.

Any computer store should have some, same substance that goes between CPU's and heat-sinks.

Some Best Buy's even stock thermal paste:

Just a data point. I stopped installing Huco's a few years ago after a set failed on my car, and then shortly after, a customers car. Bosch only for me.

Thanks Eric, that's what I figured but great to have confirmation.

People in Germany had problems with Beru units too. Buy Bosch and you are fine. Replaced my aging ignition modules with Bosch about two years ago, no issues. Car runs just great!

Although not about ign modules, the computer shop I use swears by ARTIC SILVER 5. He says the fans run less than with other products, indicating the chip(s) are running cooler = better heat transfer, which should apply to ign modules too.
Clean the mounting area(s) very well- full contact is important & use as directed.

Avail @ Amazon, EBAY etc

I have like 3 tubes of that stuff lying around lol.

I use it when I deep clean my graphics cards and CPU.

It works well and is relatively cheap so it should be fine for this application considering the parts aren't sitting at 80C constantly.

I went to a local computer shop on the way home today and got just that. They said it's the best.
