I'll echo the sentiments, and thank you for posting.
A question: Did you by chance see the ***** engineer that designed the vacuum-dependent HVAC system? He probably woulda been under armed guard with the guy who put the A/T fill way up and out of the way so that no irate owners would assault them!!

Ed, the 4 speed auto is easy to fill when you know how without touching the topup reservoir as I have explained in another thread some time ago.

Dan,
You've got enough pictures and caption/write-ups to create a nice mini coffee table book.
Can probably sell quite a few.

928's. Great to work on when it's in pieces on the workbench before the pieces parts reach the assembly line. Or do they make sure the fasteners are facing firewalls and fenders and inaccessible after assembly.

What a great thread! I've seen only a few photos of the 928 mfg. line, the photos provide a treasure trove of visual stimulus for the 928 world of owners!
If you do a high resolution scan, I'd be greatly interested too!

I too, would happily buy a CD. I'd also like to host some of these photos for the 928 Community if that would be permisable.
They certainly should be preserved ofor posperity.
I'd place them in a special page all their own at our site.
You copyright markings are welcome to remain on the photos.
Please let me know.

Dan,
Thank You very much for thinking of the 928 community and taking the time to Scan these historic images that you shot "back in the day" and posting them on a thread for us. This is like finding outtakes or additional shots from the Project 928 book in a vault somewhere. NO... it's better.

I noticed that too, and I agree it looks like an engine repair area of sorts. I doubt that they install the righthand head after the all the intake and FI goodies. I bet that one came from the Dyno room with a problem on the righthand head.

Yep, righthand header is laying on the ground behind the engine, head is on the bench. I hope the technician didn't trip over it. Maybe now we can spend the next six months analyzing what is going on in these pictures, i think i see the dyno room in the background!
