That's right in NorCal928's backyard. I heard about last summers race after it was over, there were some open road race guys that participated. I'll have to check it out this summer!

We all know that 928's are great cars. We also know that they are way better than a Yugo. But anytime you try to build a Porsche on the cheap you are asking for trouble. Remember the Top Gear episode where the three fellows each had to buy a Porsche for under $5k . The 928 not only finished last, it finished on the back of a lory ( tow truck).

Fabio I own that Top Gear episode on DVD. My view is, the moment they poured gallons of water in and saw it exit the engine they should have taken a screwdriver and found the leak and fixed it. Even a bolt through the radiator would have been better than doing nothing. There is NO CAR that would have reacted differently to not having coolant. None.

The 24 Hr Lemon race ah looks a bit like a rolling descruction derby ! not that there is anything wrong with that. The trick is finding something that will RUN for 24 hours ! Plus 1/2 way through the race they vote to crush one car ! So probably not good to be the leader... too funny.

keeping up w/those other little cars on a tight AX track is REALLY impossible... I've built the crap out of mine and it's still like driving an RV around on the super tight courses... if they'd done a 914 it would've been a much better showing for a Pcar

I guess the trick to this one is to make your car the ringer.. IE... sell an already hopped up shark to a driver.. say someone like Tiff Needell... for $2006.. let him smoke the world.. then buy the car back for $2007... that way he turned a profit...

takes the fun out I know.. but it can't be worse than losing to a Yugo
