Default Selling my 87 5sp, any suggestions?

Howdy-

Just wanted to give another shout out about the 87 for sale.

Summary:
87 5 speed, with LSD, sport seats, RMB, silver on silver/black interior, nice exterior and nice interior condition with a few blems, slightly worn bolsters, small tear on DS seat (pics attached). Richt now, a few miles over 145k.

Asking $12,500, offers accepted.

I can deliver to the West coast (CA, AZ, NM, NV, OR) residents with some consideration for gas, travel.

Work completed by a shop in Newport-
TB, WP, TB tensioner, cam gears, rebuilt MAF, rebuilt LH (2 weeks ago), all new hoses, belts, all rubber in the 'valley', 2 knock sensors, new end caps/seals for radiator, tie rods, PS pump, clutch pack, about 80% or more on tires F/R and brakes in good shape.

PM if any questions, or call cell @ (9)49 201-9582

Hello all-

I want to send a quick note that my 87 5 speed will be up for sale by this weekend. It's silver on silver/black interior. I will have pics and info on maintenance posted by Sunday. For all the help that this board has offered I wanted to give anyone here interested the first shot. I will be asking $12.5K. It has tb, wp, all new hoses under intake, new clutch pack, radiator end caps and seals, voltage reguator, new caps and rotors, plugs, new tires, LR wheel bearing and runs like a champ and has LS option 220, and RMB. Recent oil change and new PS pump too. Iw ish I could keep but current trends indicate that I will be in Europe in the very near future.

Besides the rennlist classified, anyone have good response from other avenues? I felt that autotrader had more looky loos than anything else.

Thanks in advance.

Soon possiby in the Czeck republic, or somewhere else in Europe.

PM me or email me at alex70(at)pacbell.net if anyone is interested. I am located in Orange County California.

Cheers-

Rich

BTW, please go to the end of the thread to see more pics... sorry can only place 15 at a time

please also call med on my cell 949-201-9582 if you have any questions. i will not have email access prob until tuesday or wednesday. If I am not available on cell please leave message and email if you would like more or specific pictures emailed.

cheers

rich

Put up all the info you can think of, upload clear and detailed photo's, and you can probably sell it right here on Rennlist for that kind of asking price. Good luck!

Thanks guys, yea, $12.5k for you all, closer to $14.5k for all others (autotrader) considering the condition, and options - 5sp, LSD, all the new stuff.

Thansk Bill and Rich, sorry to go....

Autotrader is how I finally found mine last year. Having alot of pictures is good, it gives a buyer something to gnaw on and will be taken more seriously. I don't think Rennlist will yeild any results, a prospective buyer wouldn't be allowed to post about looking for a car to buy until paying and will likely not do that until after buying a car. Why so low on the price?

Any feedback on what an 87 5 speed with LSD and RMB in decent condition should go for Mr. Simard? Interior is pretty clean too. Small tear on drivers bolster, but sport seats to boot too. Small cracks in dash, but dash and pod pretty clean. I guess the deciding moment will be over the weekend and the pics speak for themselves

How many miles? Any accidents history? Strange noises? Sunroof? Condition of tires? I could go on and on...so basically just put down everything you can think of to pre-empt the crush of simple questions. On the face of it, your price sounds pretty good to a Rennlist buyer, but of course everyone here will want more details.

How many miles? Clean Carfax? When I was looking last August there were several examples of 87ish, sub 100k 5 speed cars that I was interested in. They were 15-20k. When one appeared on Autotrader at a Porsche dealership, 87, 5 speed, 57k, LSD no sunroof, black interior, clean Carfax etc for 15K I wired the money before seeing it. Aside from the desirable 5 speed and S4 year, you also have a desireable color and interior, a buyer is going to see all sorts of variations on funny interior and exterior colors and will light up when they see a silver/black combo. You have some good attributes in your car and there are other guys like me who will trip over themselves to get it, be patient and they will come.

Thanks for all the feedback. The least I owe to the list here is the first shot at a fair price. I willl look at all the replies and spend some time on a well documented post on Saturday first thing pacific time. I have done alot to it, but still needs a few refining touches that I don't consider the kind of jobs that wind out including alot of while you're there kind of stuff.

I am waiting for a fax from the wrench/(not the avatar - haha) my mechanic to detail all work performed since I purchased in May 2001.

Only a few minutes before I have to run, please any other feedback before the Saturday post would be great. I will post a truckload of pics showing the good and the bad and the ugly, (really not alot of bad or ugly) and thoroughly doumment any other items to be considered at the same time for everyones perusal.

Cheers- Rich
