928 S 4 performance up grades
I just made a deposit on a 87 S 4 and will be bringing it home in a few weeks. After having a 951 ther were allot of performance up grades to be made. What are some if any that can be made to the 928 S 4?

get new speakers, amp and sub, and an RMB either stainless or black.
Try 928intl for the RMB and your local bestbuy, circuit city, audio store for all the audio stuff. Sounds like you just need more entertainment for your ears.

Cliff,
Best performance "upgrade" will be to get it running to factory spec first. Small vacuum leaks, bad knock sensors, bad/old plug and coil wires, clogged injectors, old MAF, etc. will all take just a little power away.
Exhaust: rear muffler bypass (RMB) has a great sound and pretty cheap too. A crossover with high flow cats and a RMB is what I have-a bit loud at WOT, but I like it.
Performance upgrades are supercharging (pick CS or TS), Turbo (no kits out, and the one in developement did not fit an automatic), suspension, wheels/tires, brakes..........
Good luck with the new car. I spent a bit of time getting mine right before doing much more than a RMB. Since then, bilstein/eibach coilovers, Murf stage 2 CS supercharger, custom 18" wheel and tire package, Motorsport (Utah) exhaust crossover with cats and kevlar clutch kit, stereo upgrades, powdercoated cam covers/intake and probably some I already forgot about as well as some future motor plans.

I think the first thing I will do is the RMB and then just do a over all check on the car. Becuase of the holidays I am going to bring it home in a few weeks. Then I will know more on what I have. Car is a 9 out of 10 77K on the clock red with black interior. All stock, a few things do not work and I expected this. Passenger heated seat does not work, out side mirrors do not work and the ABS light for the brakes is on. PO said he had the brakes checked out and it is a sensor??? I amthinking the electric stuff is more then likly the switches or a heating element. Any thoughts? Is ther a link to a site that might have some trouble shooting ?

As far as I'm concerned the best bang for the buck is the performance chips. Then add the cross over with an RMB and you got yourself a badd *** car And these small upgrades cast less than a grand

Very wise suggestion.

They claim gains on the S4 of about 20hp, iirc, but as stated above, the base state of tune of your car will be a factor here, too. 928 Specialists has dyno sheets from some independent testing they did, and you can check those out at www.928gt.com.
I happily run the Autothority chips.

My performance recommendations:
1. Restore everything to 100% function from intake gaskets to knock sensors, wot switch etc.
17. 5 speed tranny vs. auto. The 5 gives you a feeling of fast any time you need it, my .02
38. Lomas x pipe
39. Drive, rinse, repeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
