so, other than a blown headgasket, is there any other way that coolant would mix with the oil?

thanks again

The oil change did not cause your current problem, obviously. As stated above, look for a blown/split hose. The "smoke" coming out of your tailpipe is most likely condensation and is normal, considering the temps you have there. Don't panic, just look around a bit, you'll find the problem.

BTW, I live in the Eastlake area

For the record, the manual says oil capacity is 7.5 liters. Another source quoted on Pirtle's site says 7.5L plus .5L for filter change. I'm sticking by my original assertion that you're too full, Juvius. Drain some out. Hopefully you didn't do any damage.

Liters are not quarts.

Mine takes 9 Quarts with the filter. Both 928's I have owned do.

My last oil and filter change it took close to 9 litres to get it to the full mark.

steve is it possible you spilled some oil under the hood somewhere; like on a exhaust pipe?

Steve, don't worry about a blown head gasket. You would have had symptoms of that long before now if that were the case. Look for the source of the colant leak since you say you can smell coolant.

Juvius you dont want to enter headgasketland just yet. Incorrect fuel management can produce to much moisture also. I just dont think that is your problem either.
