Default What kind of MPG do you get?

I have an 82 automatic I just got 200miles ago and MPG seems OK but I have not checked it being most driving was city. 1982 Car and driver says 12mpg but they also say my 04 GTO gets 18 when I get about 25+ on highway. I know it will differ but what are people getting with each model, stick vs auto? Hwy and mixed? Also what grade fuel do you run? I am running 93 octane but manual states 87...is that right?

78-82 mpg?
83-86
86.5-89
etc.

As long as I keep my foot out of it I can get around 18 MPG on average. Putting my foot into it, with the blower on full tilt, I can get into the low single digits..... (even though the digital read out is lying to me...... I am running 30# injectors) I burn 93 or better..........moonshine if I can get it......

Sigh, thinking back to my misspent youth, I remember fondly the tank of gas I only got 6 mpg on. And one set of uniroyal tires.

My 90S4 gets 21mpg on highway @80mph, average 16 per tank as long as I can resist the temptation.

Run ONLY as high as the car is designed for. In your case running 93 is a complete waste of money. Higher Octane rated fuel is NOT better, more powerful ,cleaner it simply explodes slower....

At 6psi my 81 averages about 11-14mpg on my daily commute - I run 93 octane. Without the blower I never ran anything higher than 87 octane.

I filled up two days ago and got 15.7 MPG on that tank. That is 50 / 50 city / highway and every time that I drive, I test to make sure that I am seeing full boost under WOT.

I get around 19-20 if keeping it below 80ish. Car is a 1987 S4 Auto with approx 88k. Mods include advanced cams (slightly), no air pump, no cats, RMB. I also have slightly increased stall speed. Will power brake to approx. 2200 rpm. This affected gas mileage only slightly. Converter tightens up quickly once under way (at hwy speed).

On my 90 S4 I get 4.5/16/24mpg ORR/city/highway.
