lol. okay, I'll bite.

No, he won't spank your OB.

Stock 9-3's were only ~8.5sec 0-60 in the aero, iirc; if auto a bit slower. Similar weight and hp, but turbo reliance on the 4cyl can't keep up with your torque.

You didn't say if you were AT or 5sp, but even AT you should be fine under all cases since you're running properly.

From a 60 roll...you'll wonder why you asked if you get the chance to compare

Why do you worry about this? His car is 25 years younger than yours. It would be a shame for Saab, if his would not perform somewhat equal to yours.

Nicole, seems like it's a shame for Saab that GM tells them what to do...and I like Saabs.

I've got a 2004 9-3. It looks nice and gets good gas mileage. I believe mine will do 0-60 in about 6.5.

That being said, I hate the car. It's a piece of trash.

Dave - isn't it just over 200hp in the Aero?

Saabs are not designed to get your juices flowing... Mine looks so hideous from behind, I someties joke the factoroy made it look like someone already rear-ended it.

But at the same time. This car is now 12 years and 120k miles old, and has held up really, really well. The interior materials still look great, and even the paint is still pretty good. But most of all: It's a great blend of a comfortable ride with practicality - I have seen jaws of SUV owners drop when they saw what I load into my little waSAABi.

If I want to have fun? I take the 928. That one is purpose built for driving pleasure.

Lance, if both cars are in tip-top shape, he will spank you pretty hard in the first 100ft or so if you have an auto. After that, you should be able to reel him in.

my shark is a 5-spd, yeah i posted this just before we were going to lunch. and he tried me!!!!! now he's telling everyone i have 400hp. i was following him to taco bell doing highway speed (40 ish mph)when he nailed it i shifted down to 2nd and layed the hammer down i past him at middle of third and 4th was like clubbing baby seals. i shut down top of 4th. i feel bad for him that i took my shark for granted i would even have past him like that its a waste of gas.

Yep. It's pretty quick for a turbo 4 banger. My issue is the utter lack of quality with anything else in the vehicle. After 5K miles crap literally started falling off.

Case in point: The head of the gear shift (it's a 5 speed) is held on by friction. There's a spring underneath the head that must be compressed to get into Reverse.

HOWEVER, when the temperature inside the vehicle gets too warm (i.e., a random summer day of 80*F) allows the head to expand slightly. The spring-loaded tension then catapults the head of the stick shift. There have been a bunch of days where I have to search the floor for the top of the stick shift before starting the car. Apparently GM didn't consider this possibility. Time to JB Weld that sucker.

Ones with 2 bolt flange will fit to your heads. But exhaust will need to be modified to then fit to the new manifolds (length/position of exhaust pipes from manifolds to cat changes).

gives a new meaning to "just jump in the car an go"... uh, ya, umm, lemme just find the self-ejecting shifter tip --> that must have been an option, literally.
