The console auto-lock button for the '85S doors works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas? I just put a repaired AC control unit in. All works well except for this anomoly. For example, it quit altogether last night...then started working again this morning...etc.

Maybe you disturbed the connector when you put the AC head in?

Take the AC back out - unscrew the AC switch central lock panel & pull just out - any loose coinnections on the back (just soldered on) - see if the plug(s) on the end of the wires are seated fully.... Quite easy to do.

Sorry I can't contribute anything resembling an answer, but I'll be interested in any answers to this as well- i was playing with the HVAC controls in my 90 GT with non-functioning A/C the other day and found that moving the program control slider thru one of the stops (footwell outlets?) caused the power locks to cycle. I'd just installed a new stereo head unit, I hope I didn't shred some insulation back there somewhere in the console....

I carefully pulled the AC controller and door lock switch module and all connections look to be great. It's working OK now. Don't know what to think. Maybe I did move a wire the wrong way.
