Removing the pod is no different to the older cars.
Removing the steering wheel needs care.
Remove the ground strap to the battery and wait a couple of hours for the capicitars to discharge.
Two screws on the back of the airbag and out it comes. Disconnect the wire to the bag and lay the bag back face to the ground somewhere safe.
Your RDK is under the dash to the left of the wheel.
Search for a post by Schocki as he shows how to remove the cluster without totally removing the pod. It works and takes less than 15 mins.

My RDK is disabled, i had no idea what it was when i saw it but its a wire with 2 prongs on one end and one on the other going to 3 terminals in the end of the wiring harness connector. I can take a pic to help you out on which terminals need to be connected if you dont already know this. Let me know

First of all thanks for responding. The thing that i have a problem with is how to take the knee pad out.I found three screws so far.Two under the left side console cover and one under the knee pad, took them out and tried to move it to see if it got loose but nothing.I wonder if i need to remove the allen bolts under the steering shaft

Nope, take the rubber grommet off that seals the airflow from the dash into the door vent. Behind that round rubber seal sits a 10mm nut. After removal of that little bugger it comes right off...

Hi one thought the airbag should be stored on the ground with the part that would face the driver pointing up so if it should go off then the only thing that will happen is a bag popping open if you store it the other way facing down then if it should go off it could rocket through the roof or turn into a missle, see the manual , Stan

That's what I said Merlin - Disconnect the wire to the bag and lay the bag back face to the ground somewhere safe.
