Have you been taunted by any more tricked out Vetts lately?
Nope. Haven't had any of those encounters lately, but I'm ready for 'em now!

Yes it was the roundabout way.

Had to avoid the winter weather of the northern route, so went from Goshen, NY down to Knoxville, TN. Then straight west on I40 to Los Angeles (TN, AR, TX, OK, NM, AZ, CA). Then north up I5 to Seattle.

And I travelled the week Texas and OK had those ice storms. I just missed them. I basically threaded the weather needle the whole trip. I was very lucky.

I think this was TX.

chaadster,

Nice pic, those wheels look great.

Btw, what size are those and what offset? I bought a set of Cup II's and am concerned the fronts will not fit correctly on my '88 S4.

The sizes I have are:

Ft: 17 x 7 ET 55
Rr: 17 x 9 ET 55

Thanks,

Ed

ps: sorry for the thread jack...

Ed,

Yup, Andrew's right...I don't have any fit issues with the same size and offset wheels that you have. Mine are shod with 225/45 front, and 255/40 rear. No spacers, and plenty of room in the rear.

I guess since I'm here postin', I'd better stay on topic:

I think that happened to a lot of us. I clearly have 12+ hours lost somewhere in time....

Very cool, thanks!

And seeing your S4 with the white on white is really making me bum out about selling my white '85 auto. I just bought the red S4, and while the red 5 sp is great, I much prefer the white color.

Obligitory random 928 pic: How to set up your cabin for a cross country trip: power splitter, iPod with radio adapter thingy, radar detector, laptop bag with important stuff on the floor including laptop, atlas of course, water bottles, snacks, handy wipes, cowboy hat purchased in TN (stupid hat is mandatory), jacket to cover expensive things while stopped at rest stops, fire extinguisher, paper towels, and garbage bag.

Hi!
To Erkkas pictures and query about the Van Zweeden GTS...
I think that might be a accidented GTS that I bought in 2003, but ended up selling to Van Zweeden because I just couldnt get a decent way to ship it home to Sweden from Germany. I dont remember seeing US rear bumper on it though...
It had fairly extensive front damage and since the airbags had deployed, the rear hatch was bent outwards! I wish I didnt sell it though...It had only 53000 km on the speedo with the servicebook.
Van Zweeden has lots of parts for 928 and 944 and I assume he brought it back to life as best he could...
I am not dealing with him anymore though...Had a falling out with his misses...
