I have the old DuPont Registry with that car featured in somewhere out in my garage. I saved a couple of them back when I was in high school...You know, just in case I won the lotto, or my band got signed by sony If I find it I'll scan it up.

OK…like a bunny…I’m searching for the VIN# to this car seem's how it's cut off on the window sticker.
I think as Rennlisters…we should all band together to find this car…(I’ll buy it and sell it to Chuck for twice the price)
Seriously though …Rennlister membership spans the globe…and with the VIN and a bit of time and luck, we can track down where this car has gone.
Be one hell of a project but worthy of the cause to know where one or our own has found his home.
What you say me!

The VIN took some time and effort...but I figured it out and ran a Carfax on it.....came back with the same data that Chuck has listed on his site.....last heard of in 1999 with 3K miles in Florida.....

Maybe it is in Bob Ingrham's collection in Durham, NC. I'll look for it on March 31. Unfortunately, cameras will not be permitted on the tour.

I am curious, if she came on the market today what she would bring. The "last Corvette" went through Barrett Jackson last month for incredible dollars.
That is one outstanding car, and thank you all so much for the photos. I only hope that it is safe in someone's garage, rather than being in an accident or someone without knowledge of it's history having it made into a convertible or race car. I hope as well that she is still in the US, therefore I still have a shot at owning it.
You never know where or when she can become available. Last week aa guy in Nashville purchased a copy of The Declaration of Independence authorized by John Quincy Adams for $2.48 in a thrift store, yes two dollars and forty eight cents. Estimated worth: $300K

I'll bet the number of private collections that aren't "made public" throughout the world, let alone this country, would be somewhat staggering. Kinda a distant cousin of the "barn find". I was talking to a buddy in San Diego the other day, who has knows a mechanic employed by an anonymous/discreet collector in Pasadena who owns 30 Ferraris, but does not make the collection publicly known.

You guys are correct about the private collections. The only 'work' my father has had to do the past several years is taking care of a very nice collection of cars up in Wichita Kansas. The guy that owns it has his own industrial warehouse that, from the outside, looks like an abandoned building. One would never expect that inside there are a couple million $$'s worth of vehicles.

Then right before I left,he looks right in my eye, kinda freaky and says. "I would really like if you would keep this place a secret". I agreed and never mentioned it till now.
I have to wonder if his whole being so nice was his thought process of "I have to win this kid over so he keeps his mouth shut" Or if he just liked the fact i was in my vett, that I bought, not daddy, becasue he did ask..... I do wonder who he was
