I had a pretty annoying oil leak at the tranny as well.
PO mentioned that he had the tranny rebuilt and that folks at the shop probably forgot to place a gasket at top plate.

Well, I dropped rear suspension and transaxle recently and used silicone make-a-gasket () to re-seal the top plate. Yep, it's an easy guess - it's leaking again!
you need the factory gasket because it has a piece that blocks the breather. The breather is the cause of all the leaks. With it slightly blocked by a 1" wide strip of gasket material this helps to prevent so much oil migrating out of the breather and onto the exterior of the case

Yea, that's mentioned earlier in the thread.
Too bad I didn't get to know about it before putting everything back together.

That one was fine.
The only place it leaks from is top cover. Or, well, the breather as it appears.
