Nicole Thanks for the compliments and the info.

I just went through my 1st tank (not really, guage read empty, only put in 12.7gal) and managed to get an astounding 17.36 mpg. 3 better than my daily driver and I can imagine that it will get better when I decide to keep my right foot from being so heavy.

I noticed today that it really does not like to sit in idle traffic in heat with the A/C running, seemed to really dog down and the oil pressure was down a bar from normal. All the cooling fans kick on when needed and continue to run with the ignition off until it cools down properly, I'm happy to see that.

So far things are tight, tracks well, and gets up and goes as it should.

When's the next DFW get together?

17.36 is too high. Or your right foot isn't heavy enough. I'm averaging about 15mpg, the RMB really sucks for extending gas mileage.

I've been real reluctant to get in to it until I've taken the TB covers off and checked all that out. I think I've had it up to 4.5krpm one time and that was only in 1st-2nd. Problem with my drive to work and back, it's usually bumper to bumper the entire way. Although, if I leave for work a bit earlier, it's open lanes if I'm weaving.

Oh, I've found out already that "ricers" really like to do "comparisons".
/idiots.

Mine just turned into the daily driver last Friday officially. I've not been "challenged" by anyone in the shark, but the 911 gets it all of the time.

I did get a guy in a truck that drove up next to me yesterday @ Starbuck's: he asked if Porsche still made 928's and stated that he thought them to be the most beautiful car ever built by Porsche.

Had a guy stop at a stop sign yesterday and he got out instead of turning, came up to the window and said he saw me dropping off the kid at ballet and was hoping I would go his way. He has been looking at these for a while and really wanted to take a look at mine.

He fell in love.

We had a rather cool morning today so I figured that I would try out the heater.

It blows cold.

From all the searching that I've done here on it, it would seem that my heater control valve is stuck in the closed position. Correct? And should I be testing out my vaccum lines before and after?

Sean,
We can run a complete vac check on Sunday if you are coming.
I have a heater valve if you need one.

I brought it up with the wife last night, and she asked me "So, what Porsche thing will we be doing on my B-Day?" I looked at her with a my best dumbfounded Harrison Ford look and said "hmm, I don't know"

So as far as Sunday goes, if "we" get up and around early, then, Yes, "we" will be there. If "we" don't get up early, "we" will have to miss it.

She's had a rough couple of weeks at work and is really looking forward to me catering to her every need this Sunday so it's all up in the air.

Thanks for the offer.
