Thank you, Roger.

Here is something funny about these cars:

You can see that the original gearbox number was modified when the G28/12 was converted into a G28/55 (CS &SE).

This is the reason why I'm curious to see the stamp on your SE gearbox.

How to create a barn find?

1) Find an interesting car.
2) Put it into a barn

The car is into a friend's barn, now.

I need to sell my 1987 S4 to relocate the CS into my own garage

Thank you, Hilton.

As you can see, the PET is wrong for this car (like some others CSs and nearly all the SEs). The car has a G28/55 gearbox, and not a G28/12.

To my knowledge, only the first SE still has a G28/12 number, even if the gearbox was modified into a G28/55.

Hi Roger,

Sadly, I have previously missed your message

I hope that, Harvey isn't too much trouble to you and others in Texas.

As you can see, your car also has an ex-G28/12 gearbox modified into a G28/55. The number is the one expected from Porsche records.
Thank you for the pictures

Here are some pictures of my CS, after the first round of cleaning and inspection.

By the way, do you know the early life of your car?
I suspect that this is the AFN press SE seen in many period articles, with the registration THE 928S.

I was reading through this thread earlier today, then was looking through the factory manuals and came across these pages...

928 Specialists had a NOS CS decal for sale a couple of years back for (IIRC) $350. Was tempted to buy it but didn't- kind of sorry I didn't now.

Someone put one on my '89 S4 at some point in it's life. I was going to try and remove it, but didn't want to deal with the difference in paint fading. Not sure if it was one of the ones from 928 SP, or some fleabay knock-off.

Hi Samuel, what color is your CS? Looked black in first few pics but some of the newer ones look kind of blue.

Also, interesting that the seats are perf leather but the door inserts are 'PORSCHE'-logo cloth ... assume someone changed something, did Porsche ever have combination like this?

Hi Tom,

It is currently awfully painted in a kind of Audi Blue, but should be black (L700).

The doors inserts were a surprised also because according to the Porsche data and the trunk sticker, I was expecting that they were in black leather.
But I think that they are original to the car.

This is one of the questions that I will ask Porsche soon.

Also, you will observe that there is no provision for memory buttons on the left door and one on the right door. I wonder if this is original or not.

I know that two special requests were made for it (Z-orders) but I need to find out what they were.
I suspect that the leather seat inserts were one of them.
The rear passenger sun visors may be the otherl.

I need to find an original sticker, in silver and have asked 928 Specialists, but they don't have them anymore.
A good friend of mine still have a brand new one but will certainly use it for his 1989 CS. His car is nearly finished now and will be a beauty

I will need to find if my car was delivered with such a sticker. I'm not even sure that I would like to put one on the car
