I would make the trip for a Fri-Sat event. Seeing that the IRPCA DE Scheduled for Las Vegas Speedway in June got cancelled, Pahrumh would be a nice option.

vegas is always fun but ur supposed to leave what you find there mr jim! lol or did you owe them money and have to borrow from the wifey?? I hate it when that happens hahaha

could always do an evening/afternoon at LACR here in socal... not as far or as $$$ - a fairly easy ride for most of north la county folks and lots of canyon routes over the hill to entertain those that prefer twisties to freeways... every wed/fri night 5:30pm -10:00pm it's run what ya brung - $20.00 gets you all the runs you want and nearby vincent station has mighty tastey steaks/seafood, wine list, etc.... I might bring it up at the sat. pca meeting and see if there's interest to get a bunch of pcars there... could be a hoot! was going to go last night but it was blown out due to high winds... might try fri weather permitting...

iirc, may 15 is an autocross at willow springs too.. whole day promised lots of track time, only $125 for the day! its a monday, but cough, cough, I'm feeling a little chilled and.... iirc, SCCA does a rallye the 1st fri of each mo starting in mission hills too... lots of fun socal stuff lining up

im in the southwest (summerlin / lakes)
Im not sure how difficult it is to get into the fremont part, that may be why they don't do that anymore?
I actually REALLY don't like downtown, but on sat nights there are 2 bands that play on fremont there, plus yards of margaritas, deep fried twinkies, and drunken chicks make for entertainment

Vegas would be fun. I think it would be fun to have an event at somewhere that is into cars. The Shelby American facility might let us gather there. Maybe the Imperial Palace Casino. They have a huge automotive collection. Hard Rock might be fun too. Oh hell, anywhere would be good!

If there is ever a "Sharks on the Strip" I'll be there. Schedule it for sometime in the first week of January, and I'll be able to do it when I come up for CES. If you get it going this year, I'll be there for sure!

Dyno sessions, car show (with SEMA girls...or the like), awards for extreme sharks (extremely mild counts too), tech sessions, track sessions, coolest tattoo contest, keg stand competition, burnouts, swap meet, put-put golf, and a popcorn stand would make it sweet!

i can throw a football to you if you were on Hualapai and DI. I definatly need to get a ride in your car one day, as i am upgrading the shark very soon, and will be also gettting a blower. A ride in your car would be quite the motivation. Seeing other 928 guys would be interesting since ive only seen ONE other shark EVER here in town. But, my commute is 2 miles away so i don't see too much!

Tim:
I took down notes! a great possibilty of a large gathering is at the speedway. There are lots of speed shops and dyno guys there. I also know a dyno guy that with good numbers would be CHEAP!!!! I guess i need to get out into the community and make some contacts
