Default Back on the road :) Shifter Ball Cup Repaired

I changed my shifter ball cup today, little booger causes a dead stick on the shift linkage Nothing in any gear! Luckily the final shift was pulling her into the garage. It had popped off 5 or 6 times on that last drive.

Kurt Gibble Click Here Guide hosted @ 928Int was a great resource on this fix.

The one item missing is a large tie wrap around the torque tube and shift bar. Placing a loose fitting zip tie will keep the bar from poping off in the future.

Hey John,

I read the threads on using a clamp to make sure it stayed on. I used a large hose clamp to pull the bushing down on the post. I opted to go with the way it left the assembly line from Porsche. I guess I'm just a stickler for stock

With my luck the clamp would rattle and drive me crazy I was not thinking tie strap When this ball cup pops off down the road I'll have an idea of how often I'll need to spend a Saturday fixing this Rest assured if I am back under there a zip tie will be the first thing on my list...

Thanks for the good idea
