Default Ebay S4, Raleigh warning

I went and looked at this car for Rolf, if anyone is bidding on this car I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!
I've already given my report to Rolf so I'm just gonna pass on what I told him as he is no longer interested
car: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1987-...QQcmdZViewItem

a) does NOT have all the records, there is a 5 yr gap and the early records are just stamps with nothing else, detailed records go back about 3 yrs
b) the crank cradle has been welded!
c) rear hatch leaks like a sieve, there is 1/4 inch of water in the hatch area just sitting
d) rear quarters are warped as is hatch panel
e) door seals need replacing
f) ac doesn't work properly
g) shows evidence of possible accident, drv side rocker panel replaced and appears under carriage damage was fixed
I have more but that should be enough for any sane person here to skip this one

Man, you read the story the guy concocted, and you wonder if we're talking about the same car! Talk about putting lipstick on a pig. It's too bad Ebay's become so infused with sheisters. Nice reporting!

I reread his ad and this should have been a warning
"First off let me say that I own a used car lot"
he'll probably get about $8k the way he shot the pics and wrote it up
if anyone else comes across one in Raleigh and needs a local pair of eyes just let me know

Rixter ..."b) the crank cradle has been welded! " that one should be all in caps !!! basically the engine was bottomed out and BROKE THE LOWER BLOCK CRADLE ! The car should have gotten a replacement block/engine but it was "fixed"

I can't help throwing this one in the mix too. Look at the picture of "The Chairman", he looks like he's 16. Also note the "very minor" damage in the rear.

Not to jump into an old thread...but no it was not the same car. We sold ours to a couple up in VA that still owns it. It was an '88 and VIN was WP0JB0926KS860253.

Kinda odd though that a similar mile car with same color combo....

Bob,
the gent you showed the S4 to that had the burgundy interior actually ended up buying this car, even after I had warned him about it

Not THIS guy again! He looks like he has a Napolean complex.

Rixter were you the local collector that he spoke of at the bottom of the add?
