10" with 265s may fit on front (65mm)
 

I played around with the 78 this weekend. I have a set of 8/10 inch turbo twists (hollows) that I had painted metallic black. I have shown pics on this site.

I mounted the REAR wheel/tire on the front to see if a hunch I have is correct. And it may be. The car is too high to test for rubbing, but I scoped it out as well as I could. Possibly with some fender rolling on the front (ouch - just painted the damn thing), the 265s could work on the 10inch rims. This would be a very cheap way to get very big meats on the car.

I am not aware of any 9" wheels that come in such a large offset as the 10" turbo twists.

Although, there is a 10" in the new techno twists as well I think that is also 65mm.

A smaller coilover will really help, and I will have the 600/400 hypercoils and konis, so thats great too.

That would be great for a street/track car.

What would even be better is a 10/11 combo with those really high offsets all around. But the 11 in the techno twists is 45mm. My fenders are rolled enough in the rear for that but not many people will want to roll that much.

Is the track wider or not with the S4 front suspension cars?

Any chance of slapping them on the Euro, going for a spin to settle the suspension, and taking some pics?

I think 10" on the front would likely scrub on the inner wheel/tire during turning....is that not happening???

I turned it lock to lock in the garage and it did not hit anything. That seems somewhat independant of the height.

ATB - I think I can. That would be putting 10" 265s on the front and putting I have no idea what on the back. Should be fun.

Has any looked into having the mounting face of the wheel, where it meets the hub, machined down to change the offsets on some wheels? Im sure you can take some material off with out issue.???

Who said 10 inch with a 65ET does not fit..?

I have been using 18X10 ET 65 with 285's on the front of my S4 for at least 6 months without any issues... Oh, and I have 600/400 hypercoils with konis and the ride height set at about 155 +/- 2mm.

You might need a 3mm spacer to clear the brake calipers, or you may not. I have them on my Carrera lightweights.. The TT wheels may not need them...

The 265 will not rub on the inside.. You may want to put the bumpstops on the steering rack if you track the car to be on the safe side... On a street car you may need the full lock..

Hmm, my mille migila rears 18x10" 68mm offset might fit in the front then... They have 265/35-18's mounted on them now, I should swap backs to fronts and see what happens...

Yep! Fred had the front wheels on my new set machined 5MM so they wouldn't stick out as far :rockon: :thumbup:

I'm not an engineer, but aren't you afraid of comprimising the structural integrity of the wheel? I know I would be VERY scared until I knew the physics behind the stresses on the wheel and the sfatey margins needed. Until then, it sounds like a potential candidate for a Darwin award. Be careful so you don't leave the gene-pool. ;)

Somebody post some pics of their high offset wide wheels. This is a very cool find, let's see them!

Maybe. But as Blau suggested, with 600 pounds springs, it may not be too bad. That would be a alot of grip!
