It's easy to be focused on a very limited edition like this one. But this subject leads me to the regular S4 and the 1989 GT's also.

By the way, I have discovered today that the red 928 GT from the first official pictures and the technical booklet is not a proper GT. It's an S4 with a CS engine and gearbox... It was produced around September 1988.

And I have also found a CS that was certainly build for Ferry Porsche, months before the first customer CS, at the end of June 1987!
And Ferry has certainly replaced this CS with a 1989 GT...

Roger has a CS IIRC.......came over from England RHD.........given its a 5 speed it's not driven much

Roger has an SE - a UK-only spec which has the CS wheels, engine and transmission, but a bunch of heavy stuff like full leather interior, AC etc. Kind of the predecessor to the 89 GT.

What isn't clear is whether the SE got the carefully selected body panels too (CS panels were hand picked from the production line for light weight).

I did this when building the Zombie. I found the lightest were replacement parts
