Default How much did you pay for your early model 928?

This is basicly a price check. I just wanted to get some feedback on what you guys purchased (or sold) your early model 928s out there recently (last year or two) and also wondered what you think you've spent on getting most of the deferred maint. and repairs done. Not really fishing for costs of mods, just want to get an idea of what the market in these cars is looking like and to see if there's a big difference for cars that were virtually perfect and those which were 75% good to go.

Looking at a narrow range of years...lets say '79 through '82? (not fair to compare much newer cars than that I think)
1. What did you buy/sell for?
2. How many miles on it?
3. What was the condition of the car on a 1 to 10 scale?

Thanks in advance for the info!

80 928s euro 5-spd
Pais $1500
Odometer was broken but it read 108000 km (about 65k miles)
The transmission was showing synchro wear and the interior was junk.
All things considered I probably spent about $3000 total if you don't count the seats. I had the leather redone for the front seats and it cost me another $1500 (totally worth it BTW).
Still has a few issues though like a rough idle and some interior stuff.

$4200 a couple years ago... another $11K into it, maybe $6K of which was really necessary. Knock off $3K for Wheels & exhaust. Neither were necessities(well, the exhaust was but it could have been patched up for ~$150). Knock off another $3K If I had been in a position to re-seal my cam towers, do TB/WP, and install steel ball joint carriers myself. So that would put me at about $9K.

Cool

For the 82' Weissach. $8600 -a little less, actually-, including airfare, 2days in the motel $149.00 at night in San Diego, meals and gas on the trip home a fun filled 21 hour blast to Midland Texas.
Heater was stuck in roast mode bad Vacuum pot.
For Zack's 81'. I promised never to divulge the actual amount...
BUT.
For $6000 I got the White and boxes of OEM Porsche parts still in the bags, spare light assy's, a spare windshield, and a spare tranny cradle, plus the 7 book WSM's. There was so much stuff that literally I had no room left. and worried about breaking things when I stopped for gas and closed the door. Stuffed top to bottom, front to rear, left to right. And still had to leave wheels, tires and another box of parts at PO's for his disposal/sale. Had a great 17 hour low level flight from Jackson Hole Wyoming Beautiful early spring weather and snowcapped mountain Vistas.
FWIW
The run south to New Mexico/Texas from Cheyenne thru Colorado, past Denver was not as scenic as the trip south and east thru Wyoming -thats one pretty state to look at!
Both sHARKs had approx. 82,000 miles on pickup.
82' purchased in 2000
81' purchased in 2004
no regrets

This car is Kiln red metallic. It has competition group options, (front and rear spoiler and leather (non-electric) sport seats. I sold it in January of '01 for $5000. It had 145,000 well maintained miles and was my wife's daily driver for about 7 years. When I sold it everything worked and it had a very small scratch/dent in the middle of the pass side door about 1"long. The interior was pretty good except for the dash pulling away from the defroster vents a little. I saw it later on ebay with 160K miles a couple of years later and it appeared to have a new radiator and the trans had been rebuilt. In that sale, it didn't meet reserve and I don't know where it is now.

11k in 2001 for my '79. It had low milage (48k), new paint, wheels & tires and all necessary maintainance up to date. Except for new shocks, and a tweek or two, it was perfect. I bought condition. I wasnt looking for a project. 5 years on, it needs some stuff. I'll probably spend about 3-5k to do the things i want done.

Bought my 82 Competition group in 2000 for $3500 and sold it in 04-05 for $4000 to a Rennlister in KC, I spent large $$ on prevent maintance, still needed paint.
I just agreed to buy a near perfect 83S in KC with 65K and a 5-speed, new paint, 9.5 interior for $8500...maybe too much, but its a near perfect example and easier to own than the 93 GTS I had $42000 in.

82S sold
88S4 sold
91GT sold
93GTS sold
