Ken,

On my '89 the depth is 3/4" front, 1" rear.

Jim,

Thanks!
...

Unfortunately, my friend is going to a job site, so I can't go until later this afternoon.

For reference, the OB's will fit* a 1" pin on the front, and 3/4" on the rear.

The S4-> bodies have differently shaped jack points than the OB's. It looks like they'll fit* 1/2" pins on the front, and 3/4" rear.

I think the simplest would be to slot a portion of the bar and have the lift point insert move along the slot...Only need one slot..since one can be fixed the other moveable.

This is a great idea ....esp for those of us who track our cars and need to swap the track/street tires....Even with only one bar, you can do one side quickly and the do the other...

Let me know when you start to produce these (preferably in aluminum for weight savings)..as I could do with a set..

later,
Tom

I got a demonstration from Ken earlier this week. I think just about everyone will want a set or at least one of these. Makes lifting your Shark very easy indeed.

I should have said above that I believe I've solved the adjustment problem. Instead of two oval pins, I made one of them out of 1/2"x1" bar stock, so there's some room forward and back.

I've got the dimensions now for the S4-> version.

I too would like to have this made out of aluminum. The material cost will jump, and I'll have to have someone else weld it for me, but it'd be a whole lot easier to lug around!

'Honey Bunny' says: Are you nuts!? Forget aluminum (too costly), just get it done.

Well, she's right. What do they say...'shoot the engineer'?

Oh, yeah! Aluminum would rock!! I'll definitely pay more for the alu version, but in any material, a couple hundred bucks would be the sweet spot, IMHO.

PorKen (#24) guessed $250 for a run of ten?? Is that $50 for a set of two? Sure would like to get in at that price + shipping? I bought an extra Pcar alu jack thinking some day I would find someone to fabricate the insert onto my floor jack with the nice hinge thingy. This would really simply things. If there is a list, put me on it.
