I was about to do a leak down test on my 85S when I discovered that the adapter I use on my 911 is too short. I will have t make another one, which caused me to think (dangerous activity) about (a) what special home made tools make maintenance possible and, (b) since I am going to make one, if others here were interested?
So, I intend to make a adapter to fit a standard air quick disconnect on popular pressure testers that fits into the 14mm spark plug hole.
And, I wonder what other tools are useful that are(1) homemade, (2) useable more than once, (3) are not offered for sale by the big three?

Very Nice...I've solved quite a few "Plumbing Issues"..with good old Poly-Flo tubing...you can't beat this stuff for low temperature, fluid transfer...just make sure its away and insulated,.... from anything HOT. I tried to use this stuff, in heatshrink, and then, an INSULATED covering....for the pre- intercooler, compressor outlet pressures, Teed together... for my 3000GT VR4s boost pressure supply signal to my HKS EVC4 boost controller,.. and it was beautiful. Till it melted right through my makeshift "thermal shield. then...out of the blue ...I had no wastegate operation...fortunately...I was "skilled enough"..(read LUCKY)..to avoid pushing the boost past 16 psi and doing irreparable harm to my pristine VR4.
