New Clutch, now release bearing noise ?
Hi guys, '93 GTS had a complete new clutch fitted including release bearing 6 months/2000miles ago . Now with clutch pedal down there is a detectable bearing 'wine', not there in neutral with clutch pedal up.
So release bearing ?
So release bearing ?

Hello just want to keep this alive, I have just had my TB/WP RnR'd and the mechanic thought a Chirping sound that is there while the car is in motion may be the realease bearing.
The sound is there when the car is in gear and it sounds like a cricket at faster speeds, it is continuous and varies with the speed of the car. If I engage the clutch it does seem to stop.
I was thinking torque tube. Any other ideas?

Sounds like TO bearing. Try pressing on the clutch lightly while traveling, it will most likely go away then too.

Yes it does stop then as well.
TO bearing, what $$$s am I looking at on this one?
I am having a ball, after paying a premium for the TB/WP and accessory belts, 300miles later and I get the toothed belt warning...
Well < I guess I could be driving a Pinto.
Thanks

When I did my clutch, everything was fine at first but developed a scratching sound. One of the bolts from the guide tube had backed out and was rubbing on the coupler/clamp. That could be your problem. Worth a quick inspection.
BW, here's the thread with a video of what I'm describing. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/256378-metal-to-metal-scratching-noise-after-clutch-job-now-with-video.html

That video is awesome!
I couldnt help thinking of the opening scene in "spaceballs" when the space ship goes bay for like 3 minutes it just keeps going and going, it was interesting to see a 928 from underneith fixed watching a car moving above it.
I got a laugh out of that, then the big reveal when the car is out of the frame and there is the porsche banner presumeably on the ceiling!
NICE
