they look like they have been painted recently. Look at the over spray on the piston seals

Rich brings up a concern in this post. You might want to check the PN

If it's an "OB" then it should. A classic "Old Bugger" is a 78 or 79 and none of those have "S" brakes.

I like to think of my car as an OB on steroids. Still a CIS engine but with more HP and also better brakes and the spoilers.

No one has left neg. feedback in almost 4 years, but you have a different opinion. Can you expand on your statement?

Alright.
The ob is an 1979, i'm currently taking the car apart for a total restoration.(inspiered by McVikar and Pierre)
I posted on the 993 forum about those brakes also, apparently they are repainted and standard 993 brakes, not the turbo big. I called the company yesterday but they were unable to provide me with the partsnumber, needless to say but, I didnt bid.
Greggless..very interesting thread.

Geir,

Upgraded mine to S4 brakes last year. The Big Reds are probably overkill unless you track it or want sheer shock factor when people look behind your wheels, which is really not a bad thing!

You can pick up the S4s usually much cheaper. I picked up all four for $400 and bought the rest of the hardware from DR. The rears take shims and that is it. The fronts require adaptors which I think were a couple hundred. The things that will set you back are new hoses (same as your current ones on the back, but new banjo style S4s for the front) dust sheilds (front and back), painting your used calipers (cheap if you do it yourself), brake sensors (I went with the original 79 style) cast holed rotors, new bolts, and repack front wheel bearings.

They stop a whole lot better, but I've heard if I upgraded to a later booster, the braking would get even better. Long story short, you won't be dissapointed, definately one of my favorite upgrades!!!
Any questions, fire away.

I will expand.

Got a 1993 911C2 engine for a customer's car. A complete engine. Didn't get exhaust, fan computers etc....over a year of promises. Ask anyone on the 911 board that tried to buy a car from him. Todd is his name. Hell, I know a couple of people in St. Louis that got screwed as well. Just not worth it. Maybe he changed, but I still never got all the parts that I paid for, and we are talking about a 6.5K engine that cost me another 1k in parts. Just my opinion.

Thanks.

Chuck.
That is one nice and clean machine. You are right, the S4 upgrade was the one I was thinking of but I thought the price was ok for the biguns.
I might consider the setup that Mr. Weissach is pushing....right that is too funny.
I like the price of 400 for all four corners...anyone??

Does anyone happen to have the pats number for the S4 calipers handy?
My better half did the x-mas cleaning and my manual + pet cd's seems to have disappeared somehow. She says she dont know what i'm talking about.

I upgraded my '85 to the 'big blacks' (GT brakes)...
Nasty dirty job...it took me about 12 hours...but having done it, I think it can be done in 5 hours or less - MIGHT require a spindle changeout to OB's - DR is supposedly working on a new type adapter that won't require the spindle change.

As I have said many times before - this is the BEST upgrade I have done to my shark. Others familiar with 928 track/AX performance agree - it 'FEELS' like the car has lost 1000#.
