Best email I've gotten in a long while, the verification of shipment with the UPS tracking # of my Mod Xpipe from 928 Spec.... I even looked up my receipt to make sure what was being shipped to me just in case! Can't wait now cause I know its been worth the wait! Merry Christmas DR!!

Hi Mel,
You are correct, we started shipping our Stainless Steel Modular Crossovers yesterday and are averaging about 10 a day out the door. It takes a while to package them properly and make up the hardware packages with all the clamps, gaskets, flange mounting bolts/locknuts etc, that are included. Plus, we have to carry on with normal operations too.
We hope to have the first run of pre-orders out by Tuesday/Wednesday AND I just got word that our second production run could be here sometime next week. IF that is true, everyone who ordered prior to 11/28 will definitely have one before Christmas.
HO, HO, HOOOoooo

>Very Cool I just ordered mine from Carl...
FYI, just to avoid confusion, there are 2 or 3 other great 928 X-pipes available....
BUT "DR's Mod Xpipe" (928SP Stainless Steel Modular Crossover) is only available thru 928 Specialists. :-)

I have to agree with Dave on this one as well. There are a couple of choices for x pipes. Even Devek has one now.
We can make them in stainless as well and will TIG weld them if desired, it just costs more and will likely fail in about the same amount of time if not sooner due to stress, not corrossion. Its all about the design and power or cosmetics. We made our choice and seem to have people that love them just as Dave will have people that love his..... Just my 2 cents.

It seems the factory original Stainless Steel Exhaust components last pretty well from my experience! I for sure haven't seen any mild steel exhaust versions on other cars that last longer.

OR,... it's all about, Design and Power AND Cosmetics AND High Quality Components AND Long Lasting Materials, and we prefer to cover all of these criteria as best we can! Just like a 928, it may not be the quickest, fastest, best handling, best stopping, most luxurious, or best looking, BUT you would be hard pressed to find another car that does all of these as well as a 928... we strive for the same with our products.
Saying Performance (Power) and Cosmetics can't exist together is a GREAT insult to a 928,.... because it is a prime example of both :-) AND if none of us cared about "cosmetics" we would all be driving Yugos with some of John's twin Turbos...

Oh wow,.... just checked on the UPS tracking info,.... my "DR Mod XPipe" is in town & "out for delivery"!!! Can't wait just to See It, much less Install It, Hear It, Feel It & just overall Experience It!!! Just hope the clamps are correct, will let ya'll know DR either way once I inventory the package tonite!
I agree with the thought that if I am going to spend time & $$ to install or replace something on my Shark, I want the best of all worlds that is available & that I can afford. Our cars deserve that since Porsche built them to that standard originally. I appreciate all of you out there who are so dedicated to the 928 to make all of these great items to go on our cars! Especially when its things that are top quality that make the 928 even better!

Pardon my ignorance on the subject, but would an S4 equipped with an X-pipe, new cats and a pair of good mufflers pass California emissions? I had no problems with my '89 last time (Borla cat-back system and stock cats).

Hi Rob,

I can see no reason why our Crossover (or anyone else's) with modern cats wouldn't pass as long as the rest of your engine's heath is up to snuff.
