That is pretty extereme.
Does anyone know if the Jaquemond wing will use the s mounting points or is it the s-4 mounting points? Is there another one that mounts to the S mounts?

I don't think the S mounting points are used for any of the s4 or larger wing upgrades. I also think that if you use the S mounting holes, things won't look right. Additionally, the S wing doubles as glass trim. When removed, you would have to install the S4 or Pre-S style trim, which can be expensive when done, and even more so, when you're aligning the new wing mounting points. I think that is the main reason why the majority of aftermarket wings for the S cars use drilled holes in the hatch exactly at, or in the proximity of the S4 hole locations.

just my $0.02

Hi Fabio,

I have the Jacquemond Aerodyne wing on my S4 that I purchased from Jaquemond himself in France. I absolutely love it!. Personally I think that it's lines/curves suit the car perfectly. I have never had anyone, other that a 928 owner, ask me about the wing. Everyone else passes it off as stock.

Here are some pics of my S4 with the Jaq Aerodyne wing:

Jacquemond was very good to deal with, and the shipping was reasonable ($100 from France), however there were fitment issues. When I mounted the wing on the car I noticed that the rear wiper made contact with the bottom of the wing.

I contacted Jacquemond about this and his reply was to bend the rear wiper arm so that it would not make contact to with the bottom of the wing. This may work, but it did not sound like a solid idea to me so I pulled the wings mounting bolts from the bases, and add an additional 10-15 mm of material to the bases for the rear wiper to clear the bottom surface of the wing.

We are only talking about 10mm here. However this is an expensive custom item, so I did not expect to run into this kind of fitment issue. Maybe Jacquemond has corrected this by now.

As far as price goes, Jacquemond is a little high. However he does have excellent specials from time to time where he discounts his products 20-40 %. I would have to dig out my invoice but I think I got mine as part of a Christmas sale for $599. If you are interested in his stuff, it's worth it to keep checking his site for promotional specials.

There are also a couple of guys that are selling knock-offs of this wing. I don't have any links, but I did see them on ebay. Perhaps they would be of similar quality, but half the cost?

Cheers,
Michael

This has got to be my favorite rear wing setup. My understanding is that is is the stock wing painted and raised up into the airflow for more downforce. It really gives the car a more aggresive look.

Thanks!! i used a composite plastic foam sandwitch and expoxed them together. (and then sanded and painted it red) i started with 1" and then went to 2" and finally 3". i kept on buying longer bolts but the angle gets farther and farther in as the wing gets higher, so it takes some drilling out of the rear decklid in the hole areas.
In the end, i kind of like it too! it provides 80lbs of downforce at 120mph! (and about 20lbs at 60mph) Its not an speed GT wing, but for the amount of splitter i have up front, it seems to work.. i think too much rear wing on our cars can just add too much drag and make things unbalanced unless you make a front splitter to match.

I guess I have to say I like the stock setup on my 84S! Enough, but not over kill. If I had an S-4 I'm srue it would be my favorite.

Hey Jim. Our cars could be twins. same color and year. But mines a 5 speed and yours still has the front spoiler in good shape. You don't think it needs a little more out back?

Can anyone photoshop something for me. Please color the front spoiler of G-Man's frontal view to match the body color. I would really appreciate it. I am planning on doing this but I would like to see how it would look.
Thanks

I already posted this earlier buit somehow it didn't show up. So if it shows up later as a double post, I do appologise. My car is also an 84. It looks like the same color as the picture you posted ( not the avatar). My sticker in the door jamb says "Rouschequartzmetalic".

Hmmmmm. Ok- probably looks better in real life.
In the pics. though to large, ends look a little dumbo-ee.

What the S4 and former needs is some .UP lifting....to the *** end..END TIPS OF THE SPOILER, A LITTLE UP; at least!
The rear is sagging. Unsag those rear square fenders.
