Default Sneak Peek - SUPERCHARGED by 928 SPECIALISTS !!

....A better title might be "How I spent my Summer Vacation :-)

Here is a sneak peak of our new Twin Screw Intercooled Supercharger Kit for all 32 valve 928s. Questions are welcome and feedback is very much appreciated.

I have been wanting to Supercharge a 928 ever since I have owned one and have finally put together a Supercharged Kit the way I have always envisioned it.

Please keep in mind this is a pre-production prototype and a lot of the parts were hand fabricated here, the finished kits will have a much higher level of fit and finish. Also, due to the reflections from all of the polished aluminum the photos do not do the system justice.

Here are some highlights and answers to some obvious questions.

- Prototype Version has already broken the 400+ Rear Wheel HP mark without tuning or computer mapping! Our Twin Air Intake Filters system has shown a gain of 15 Rear Wheel HP and 20 Rear Wheel Ft/Lbs of torque over using NO filters at all! Full Dyno testing on the Production Version should be completed in a few weeks. Just so it is clear, we are not looking to have the most powerful supercharger kit on the market and instead are concentrating on a solid performing system with OEM quality fit and finish that will not have any detrimental effects on the engine. Boost on this Intercooled Kit will be between 6.5-7 psi. We anticipate a safe and solid 400-425 Rear Wheel Horsepower with our Kits.

- All of our kits will have brand new Autorotor Twin Screw Superchargers.

- If you haven't guessed from the photo it incorporates a Twin Throttle Body (2 x 67mm) rear plenum design which was necessary to give me the twin air intake/filter system that attaches to the factory fan shroud, identical to a stock 928. This was a must have for my kits as I am a firm believer of the factory "ram/cool air" system found on our 928s.

- The Twin Air Intake/Filter system utilizes our custom made air tube systems with custom "Aero Cone" High Flow reusable Filters and our custom clear "Quick Check" Filter housings. (this system will also be available for stock 928s by request)

- The ONLY modification of any original part used on the 928 is a 3/4" hole in the plastic Windshield Washer Filler Neck, no other part of the car is modified.

- NO Pulley changes, our design uses the stock original pulleys. We have created an idler system that gives amazing "belt wrap" around the Supercharger and crank pulleys that will eliminate or greatly reduce belt slip. The belt is tensioned to the same exact factory specs as the original alternator belt and "pulls" on the main crank pulley from the same angle as factory so there is virtually no additional pressure on the stock crank pulley. Our pulley/idler system also clears the factory S4/GT/GTS fan shroud so no fan changes are needed for 87 and later (85-86 Kits will include new electric fan system)

- Remote Fuel Pressure adjustment (this will also be sold as a separate product for our adjustable fuel pressure regulators)

- All Vacuum and vacuum control lines are plumbed in the same or similar manner as original (including the charcoal evap system).

- Our Kit uses a very high quality Air/Oil Separator System that vents from the factory cam cover vent ports and the Oil filler neck. Oil return is plumbed directly back into the oil pan and "clean air" is vented back in front of one of the filters. This can also be vented into a separate filter, into a catch can for race applications, or even plumbed into the air pump if desired.

- Intercooler and intercooler radiator are kept clean and protected by a user cleanable filter system that has a visual indicator that tells you when it needs to be cleaned.

- All of our kits will come approx. 90-95% pre-assembled, the only parts not assembled will be those locations where our pre-attached hoses connect and installation of the original parts reused (fuel rails, Mass Air sensor, etc). All Supercharger/intake/intercooler assemblies will be vacuum/pressure tested here before shipment and be ready for 1 piece drop-in installation.

At this time the Pre-Sale Introductory pricing is set at $6995 for the Twin Screw Intercooled system as shown (polished SC/Pulley brackets as shown is extra, our custom air intake/filter tube system and rear cover in polished aluminum as shown is standard). The first kits will be shipping and/or ready for installation in the month of December (interested beta testers can get systems sooner:-). We are accepting Pre-orders now, contact me for details. Normal installation cost here at 928 Specialists will be $1500 including accommodations at the 928 Specialists "Bed and Breakfast cottage".

Also, I can finally announce our new website domain names that have been active for quite a while. They currently direct you to our main website, but will soon send you directly to our new Supercharger Kits.

Dumb question #1

Is the MAF located in the box that has the Porsche crest on it?

WOW, doesnt sum it up Dave! Absolutely incredible.
Kudos to you and Andy taking this to the next level. Absolutley incredible.

Im glad you picked up the baton and are runnign with it Dave....running very fast with it, it appears!
Cant wait for the numbers!

ya got drive it to LA for Sharktoberfest!

That is how you rap a pulley on one of these things!!!
Also, is the the 2.2 L or the 1.7 liter? the casing looks a bit shorter?

Also, i know you say it is a Kit, but for many of us who have done these installs already, will the individual items needed to bring ours to the level you have be available for indvidual purchase or as and upgrade kit? Somehting to think about in teh future! I love it!

This setup would solve my intake powedercoating issue. But I'd still need to do the valve covers. DR are those (valve covers) powder coated or just polished?

I'm glad someone decided to carry on Andy's development work, it's a big + for the whole 928 community.

Kudo's!
