Default Windshield source in Canada

Help.....
I cannot locate anybody sourcing a windshield for a S4, in Canada.

Except for the $1350.00 dealership unit, of course!

Have any of my fellow Canuck's had the "opprotunity" to find one?

Brian...........I checked with various Canadian sources and got the same response.

There's an outfit in Calgary I'm going to check with......Reigel Tuning; have you checked with them?

Malcolm.... no I haven't... I will though.

heinrich, that's the next option......... I just don't understand how PPG up here says they don't make them, and the Rennlist is packed with fellows who say that's where they got them from!

To be honest Brian I bought two new Porsche ones a year or so ago and still have them, haven't had time to replace .... but I had a hell of a time getting them here, not that I doubt people's word, it's just that I paid 3x what others say they pay and I got a steal.

and by the time they get up here they have shipping, customs and duty etc etc $$$$

Brian............my car has a non-Porsche windshield that was probably installed in Calgary. Unfortunately my car is in the garage at home as we suffer through this most recent snow. I'll have the SO check and let you know.

Great, Malcolm! Thanks!

I had Diamond Glass drop-ship me one out of Portland or Seattle, for my '86 car... I was just hoping for something a bit more rational this time.

The numbers on my windshield are:

Relevant earlier thread:

In the US, my local installer have had aftermarket glass for under $300. In both cases they were from non-US companies. One was PGI (Australian) and the other was Pilkington. Others claim Safelite prtovides glass as well.

Just keep calling auto glass installers until you find one that has it. Many of them will give you bad information, but eventually you will find one that actually has the glass. A shop less than 10 miles from my house had it in-stock.

Let me know what you ultimately find as I am in the market too. I don't mind non-Porsche if the price difference is as signifcant as others have stated.

No, I was just brousing the web for parts and found them. I noticed that the 87+ needed to send more info to get a quote but they have them for the pre87, around $300us. I recalled reading your thread and past the link. maybe someone else might use it...
