Default Porsche Panamera News

This months issue of Motor Trend has an article on the Panamera. The design has been finalized and Porsche gave the orders to begin tooling up for it. There a couple of good pictures of the car. Looks more like the 911 family tree but pays homage to the 928. The drive train will be directly from the Cayenne in two or three different horsepower ranges. Two or four wheel drive. $110,000 and up range. 20,000 units per year with half of those coming to the U.S. Good article. Check it out.

I'm disappointed Porsche decided not to show the Panamera concept at the Frankfurt show. It would have been interesting to get a look at something other than the drawing that came out with the press release - and all the photoshopped pictures that keep popping up in all the magazines.

Base price of $110k? Good luck selling 20 thousand per year at that price!

I agree on the price x volume comment. If they want to sell 20k units, they will need a VW powered V6 version in the 50k range.

$110k might be for the top of the line version - I can't imagine this to be a starting price. Rumors say there will be V6, V8, V8 turbo and V10.

I saw the article last week, small but the gent who wrote it mentions that it's a modern 928
baseline entry level is expected to be in the $60's here in the US
if the pics are now accurate it's a 911 style front end with 928 styling in the rear
make it a 2door and it would probably pass as a shark
now... where do I place my order for that 10cyl???

If Porsche wants to sell 20,000, the pricing should be close/same as the pepper.

Rixter, I stand corrected. $110 in top line trim. I called Porsche North America and put your name and Nicoles down for a future 10 cyl. They will expect your deposits some time later this month.

Sure - if it's funded with OPM. Did you say you wanted to make an investment that never pays back? Then send me your money...
