He's doing good. Just received a pm. His house is high and dry! Incredible. He's trying to help the ems personnel and is exhausted.

Good to hear. Is his 928 OK?

Wow - that's freakin' great! First bit of good news I've heard come out of NO so far!

I've heard there's alot of disease floating around down there so I hope he's careful. God bless him for helping out despite the risks

That is GREAT news. I really hope that his dry house wasn't looted and that his 928 is right where he left it and in the same condition!

EDIT: I just got word from a local 928 owner. He's shipping out and heading South to provide assistance. (He's a Navy Doctor, so he goes where he's sent.)

I've met Abby and any punk who is stupid enuff to mess with him, would get their destiny handed to them however Abby decided.

May the force be with his family, and neighbors. Even if his shark is messed up I'm sure we can help him replace it, very cheap.

There has to be some sunlight out of all of this darkness.

Thanks guys!

My family and I are doing fine. We took heavy losses on my wife's side of the family, however all are well and are alive. We have been living in Oklahoma the past few weeks, and I am headed to South Dakota in the morning to see if I want to transfer there. It may be a good temp move since the company I work for would be covering the cost of the move plus some living expenses. In addition, I can either let family members live in my house while theirs are being fixed or rent my house on the market. Any and all undamaged properties are renting for top dollar, so the rent would cover my mortgage easily. In time, my property value will likely soar since my house was high and dry in a Cat-5 storm.

Thanks again guys for the kind thoughts and comments! They truly mean a lot!

Biscuits, I've been trying to reach Brent and Charles but the phone lines are always busy when I try. Let them know, please.

Abby, CarChick and I were just talking and both of us are glad that you and your's survived the destruction. CarChick brought something up though: The recent Supreme Court ruling that allows private property to be seized for Public Purposes. I sure hope we don't see application of this precedent in the N.O area.

(No, I'm not intending to start a political thread folks. It's just a caution to factor into post-destruction planning.)

OT

Worf: "All art is political" -- Picasso. I guess his definition doesn't include that stuff you (can) buy at the Holiday Inn or paint by numbers, but Pcars are art by my definition and therefore your caution is political, and this is really OT, I agree, it should be taken into consideration. No further comment necessary, but plenty possible. Look out. :icon107:
