Germany - End of September??
Anyone going to be in Germany during the time from September 23rd to October 3rd and want to drive around a bit, maybe visit Stuttgart?
How about in Munich from September 29th to October 3rd?

Well, I'm back in the US, and barring any emergencies won't be there around that time. But if you visit Stuttgart, I suggest the following:
- Make an early reservation for an English language factory tour
- Visit the old Porsche and Mercedes museums (both new ones won't be open, yet)
- If you like music, the ABBA musical Mamma Mia is great. There is another musical, a movie theater and a casino in the same complex
- If you like model cars, visit the Modelcar Center, Marienstr. 11 (Marienpassage), 70178 Suttgart, www.model-car-center.de
Be prepared that driving in and around Stuttgart is a real pain. Narrow roads, low speed limits, and photo radars everywhere - 1984 made real.
If you like to visit some older towns, consider Esslingen, which is further down the Neckar river and has a beautiful fort on a hill (320 steps from the town, or you can drive up there). See my pictures in the "Nicole goes to Germany" thread.
Other nice towns are in the area between Ludwigsburg and Heilbronn - use the hiways, rather than the Autobahn and you'll see lots of old buildings.
Another really nice area is the South Western area of Germay (West of Munich, South of Stuttgart. Consider visiting Lindau and Bregenz at the Lake Constance (check the weather report, as it can be foggy). If you are travelling between the Stuttgart area and the Lake, the Autobahn between Konstanz and Böblingen is supposedly still unlimited.
You can search the forums for more posts of mine regarding Stuttgart, or trips to Germany in general.
