Default Possible Engine for Sale- Basically new 4.5L with many upgrades

I have acquired a GTS crank as some of your know, and some other parts for a good start on "budget stroker" of sorts. It was supposed to be a third engine, but I did have a flash of an idea:

I have built from the ground up a 4.5L motor - it is in my avatar.

It has:

Balanced rotating assembly with
NEW mahl 10:1 compression pistons, pins, rings, clips
new rod bolts
new pin bushings
Relapped cylinder bores
Oil pan baffle
Cleaned, ported, and powdercoated Euro intake
with the larger TB.
Rebuilt heads with:
Massaged valve margins and faces for good flow
NEW custom valve springs
ported matched intake
S4 oil filler neck
Powder coated coolant bridge
Painted cam housings with
78 cams for more lift and duration
MSDS headers, coated with high temp coating
I graphed S4 fuel rails with 39lb injectors into the LH Euro intake.
78 Flywheel balanced with rotating assembly, and machined.
New Water pump
New or Rebuilt pulleys
Painted belt covers in brilliant silver/purple
All accessories rebuilt including
Alternator
AC (from S4 - have bracket)
PS pump
Stainless bolts of proper rating used with proper anti-sieze used in various areas.

My target audience would be ready for a new engine, but not all the work. They would need to understand it would need breakin proceedures, and some understanding of how to graph some of the updated systems into thier own car like the S4 oil filler neck for crankcase vac, and the larger injectors (though you could just those out or I could remove them and you could use like 83 or 84 euro LH injectors.

I'm thinking 4500 for this complete package, give or take for what you do or don't need. Don't laugh about the price. If you are, then you haven't built an engine and you may still need this one.

Why would I sell after all this work? I was thinking after getting a ride in Tim Murphy's car that maybe I should start with my 89 engine in the 78 and build the budget stroker/SC FIRST for the 89 instead of putting the 5.0 in t he 89 and waiting to build the stroker/SC engine when the 5.0 gets tired under 13psi.

I may try it on ebay for a while, but its a nitch market, and by the time the 78 is ready for an engine I may put it in anyway and add more methanol under boost to compensate for the 10:1 compression ratio of the motor.

It is still a non-interference motor, as the pistons are crowned without affecting the valve relieves.

The motor is technically set up for megasquirt efi, and if you really were ready, you could buy that too, wire it up, and go wild. The loom is partially done, and the custom brackets are there for the proper sensors. Another 1000 or around there for my bin of megasquirt stuff

You would also recieve the X-over that would work for the msds headers that go straight back, and the exhaust system for an early car with dual 2.5" and one dual in/out spintech muffler. SOme welding required.

Clutch assembly included.

Somebody wants a supercharged 928, NOW!

It does sound like a pretty good deal for a strong 16V, but purple?

Hah. Well, it is a PPG DBC silver under a custom blue transparent. It is mostly blue. And they are just cam belt covers. Everything else is a nice silver or black.

If I don't sell this engine (and I kinda doubt I have a big enough audience to really have a chance, but I always try), it will be boosted as I mentioned. I will have boost, either way.

Don't forget the complete HTD gear upgrade, including 32V adjustable cam gears!

BTW: I think you meant to say 'graft' instead of 'graph'.

WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE

There are those that have read about boost and those that have felt it.

Right. HTD belt and upgraded cogs with two versions of Porken's cam adjustment wonders.

And thats how I know I will be happy in the 78 with the 4.5L with about 10psi of boost. But I am trying to plan ahead for the 89, and since that extra engine could start NOW, I could install the 5.0 instead into the 78.

I've had some private emails, so there seems to be a market.

Almost going to paint the car, so something will need to go into the engine bay.

Any other interest?

Because of some private constructive criticism, I think I should post clearly what is included:
Extensively upgraded* Engine, balanced, blueprinted.
headers, Xover, exhaust if it can ship
accessories (new alt, rebuilt PS pump),
Clutch Assembly *sans flywheel*,
powdercoated clutch housings,
Quasar Blue Cam belt covers

*See first post for custom work, but I need to add that there are 10:1 compression NEW pistons, Mahl original stock.

Maybe I should keep it and really see how much a 4.5L can make.
