Question 928 in DFW

Anyone in the DFW area be willing to check this out for me? Not real sure how to do the link but I copied and pasted the site. It's in my price range and appears to be in good shape. Low miles for the year. Any help would be appreciated.

Vader - I am sure one of the TX r'listers will help you out...they may even know the car.

On thing in the listing I find VERY hard to believe...guy has had the car since '91 and "has never had any mechanical problems....."

Yeah that was questionable. I never have owned a 928 but I do know that they can be a problem at times.

Probably the light but the front seats look a different color than the back?

I am interested in the car and thought about putting my bid in but, before I did that I thought that I could come here to see if I could get some help. I am a very cautious when it comes to bidding on ebay. Have been taken before from sellers on their.

Looks like his digital cam needed the flash for the rears...

HOWEVER - along the lines of the post by Sterling about maintenance...The drivers seat shows a LOT of wear for the mileage....and do not appear to have had much TLC (I.E. - leather conditioner, etc)

I just noticed...in the side shot of the car - there is ANOTHER 928 in his driveway....

TWO sharks - SURELY someone on the list here from DFW knows the owner & the cars...

Also - in the head-on pic - the spoiler is coming off just right of center, the headlamp washer on the DS is off-color, and the fromt bumper cover appears a slightly different color from the rest of the car....POSSIBLE front end damage.

I would NOT bid until you have had someone check it out up-close & personal! (unless the buyer will make a sale contigent upon an acceptable PPI)

The person who never fixes anything and is oblivious to "issues" that don't prevent the car from being driven could well say that there were no mechanical problems.... now about the electrical problems...

Vader,

Doc Mirror or Jim Mayzurk are a lot closer than Sterling and I. I'm surprised Roger has not chimed in yet, he is usually award of all 928s available within a 100 mile radius. Oh yeh, he's on vacation.

This is a 1983 928S Porsche, I've been the owner since 1991, car has been garage kept since, Car has been driven basically in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.....
Sounds a little vague. Have you checked with the seller directly to be sure it hasn't been driven in Ohio???

Thank you all for your responses. I hope that one day I will be the owner of a shark and be a member of the Central Texas Porsche Club. Thanks again.

Roger has the 6th sense to find any 928 within 100 miles. The more unique the better....but my 1992 GTS is still not for sale, sorry Roger!
