Talking 87 928S4 for sale

I am completely baffled as to where my topics and posts are going to (they keep disappearing for some unknown reason) but here it goes again...

-1987 Porshce 928 s4. auto
-black on black 160xxx miles
-bone stock with exception for sport seat(original included), rmb, momo wheel, auto shift boot, and sound system.
-runs very strong. put down 285/286 at dyno without rmb.
-tranny rebuilt 4 or 5 years ago
-new power steering rack, new starter, new window motors
-slight noise from torque tube
-due for a t-belt job
-everything works except for cigarette lighter. non-smoker so never looked into it.
-rear ac. needs recharged, but probably cheaper to convert to r-134a
-asking $8500.

any questions write or call.

OK TOM M, met with Charley tonight . Yep just added another 928S4 to the stable...looks like it going to be your old car. Not certain if I am going to do some restoration or simply track it. Either way it is my 928 now.

Not for long, Heather almost cut them off lastnight when she heard I got another!!!

Porsche has released no new info on the new F/E V8 Panamera so I am still chasing that new Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage (now officially dubbed by Aston Martin's CEO- "The Porsche 911 Killer") and that means unfortunately the twin screw will have to go (need the cash).

Body:
- Two seat, two door body with rear tailgate
- Bonded aluminium structure
- Aluminium alloy, steel, composite, and magnesium alloy body
- Extruded aluminium side impact bars
- Halogen projector headlamps
- LED rear lamps

Engine:
- All alloy quad overhead camshaft 32 valve, 4.3 litre V8
- Variable inlet camshaft timing
- Dry sump lubrication system
- Fully catalysed stainless steel exhaust system with active bypass valves
- Front-mid mounted engine
- Rear wheel drive

Projected Performance figures:
- Maximum power: 283kW (380 bhp / 385 PS) @ 7300 rpm
- Maximum torque: 410Nm (302 lb.ft) @ 5000 rpm
- Maximum speed: 280 km/h (175 mph)
- 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds
- 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0 seconds

I wholly believe that Aston Martin has picked-up the 928 and did what Porsche did not finish with the 928GTS I think the style is VERY close to what the 928 may have evetually evolved to- boiled down... the AMV8 is a Porsche 928 knock-off (imho).

But I will keep a few 928's in the garage for collector value. So, Tom I think that means your S4 is getting the complete restoration treatment (paint, interior, the works- that means 928 International will be in my wallet for about a year) and not raced...sorry.

I guess I am making a HUGE SPLASH returning back into 928-dom. I can't wait to begin the resto on Toms 87. As most of you may know I am not much for black cars but I think this one will is going to be a real jewel when done.

The one non standard thing I will likely do is SC it.

Hey Pat...you weren't at the dyno day we had in Vancouver, WA..but we got some respectable numbers out of the 89 AT with the rear turbo.... 365rwhp..which comes out to 450ish crank hp... using 20% loss for the auto... Still some tuning and tweaking left and bet we can get some more...

Just another option to consider..send me a PM..I'll fill you in on some details...

Again..congrats on getting my old 87....knowing what you did to the PREDATOR..im sure this one will come out awesome too.....

Thanks Tom, I have trying to build the resto in my head and I am thinking it is going to be great. I am prepared to drop about $20-25K into the total process (if it needs that much, I am thinking the complete paint job and interior work will gobble up most of that).

Yea, I am interested in that "rear turbo" and its benefits over the SC...PM is on the way.
