Whatever I do it will go on and stay on. The point is to not get stopped period for something so stupid.
I have now seen Officer Torres twice in my G-wagen with no front plate. Tonight was the most recent and I know he recognized me, no turn-around, no ticket....so far.
That is the problem, my town is the county seat. There is only one road in and out. No way to avoid him. Part of the thinking is that if I comply with this BS, hopefully I am less likely to get creamed if he catches me speeding.

I have gotten parking tickets for no front plate if I park on the street. You can even get one if your plate is not in the right spot (on the dash of my truck) as I have found. Naturally in a small town this might not be a problem but keep it in mind.

The problem is, you live in too small a town. You HAVE to get along wih the local gendarmie... In a larger town if you **** off one of the local force the odds are good you'll never have to interact with them again anyway.
Minnesota requires 2 plates. Unless you have 'Collector' plates, which means the car's at least 20 years old and not driven for 'regular transportaion purposes', whatever the hell that means.
I hate my front plates with a passion. They look so stupid!

Thad, Definately one of the prices to be paid for living in a small community. I did 25 years in the Twin Cites though, and I'm not going back! I did pretty good in central MN for a decade though, lots of wide open roads and an easy going group of peace officers. They had plenty to do busting meth labs and the like, no time for my petty offenses.
Here I can read in the paper where months go by where nobody gets arrested period. The county Sherrifs report generally has five traffic stops before a single ticket gets issued. This also truck country and they don't get bothered, Porsches do. I have been stopped three times in the 928, the recent plate ticket the only real reprimand, and once in the Cayenne while pulling my enclosed snowmobile trailer. He told me I needed mirror extensions, yeah right, on my Cayenne. I started hauling them with the Dodge truck and never had an issue.
The best one that I just heard last night was, Ralph Lauren has a ranch here. I have actually raced with him over Dallas divide, he was in a silver McLaren F1 and I was in our former MB S600. He creamed me, which was fun to watch. Anyway, Ralph was tagged for 120 in a 60 locally. He ended up making "substantial" contributions to the local coffers as part of his restitution. Who says money can't buy love
