Default FREE: pair of black seats from my 86.5 928S

Ok... it seems that i'm somewhat pressed for space in my garage and its proving difficult to part the car out. I currently have the passenger seat out, and its sitting on TOP of the car because I had nowhere else to put it.

Here's the deal...

These seats will be free to a good home on local-pickup only. Don't take them unless you have plans to actually use them, or restore them in some fashion. I plan to go with lightweight seats in my next shark, so these won't be of use to me and I don't feel like shipping them anywhere.

Now... for the ugly. The driver's seat has a tear in one of the bolsters. Also, the motors are probably shot for the most part. For the passenger's seat, the motors are pretty much shot too. To make matters worse, I think a gear broke inside because the PO had the seat welded to a certain position (seat won't recline until that part is replaced and the weld is broken).

With that in mind, the seats do their job. You can sit in them, and they're about as comfortable as a 928 seat will be.

i'd also like to add that the seats will come with whatever mounting hardware is attatched to them, but none of the mounting bolts (they're spoken for). I'm sure you can find these elsewhere though.

Michael - I will pay for shipping if I can have them - my power seats in my 88 work fine, but one of the threaded gears that controls forward/rearward movement is somewhat stripped, so the seat slips a bit on acceleration/deceleration - very annoying! I hate to get a new seat just for that issue, because all the motors and switches work fine...what do you think? I know you don't want to mess with shipping, but maybe we can work something out?

@kraabel
Yup, parting it out. I'm keeping the engine and tranny. The S4 brakes are spoken for as well as a couple other small items. The Supercharger unit is already sold.

@Bill
I would much rather have both seats goto someone who plans to use both of them or rebuild both of them. I would hate to see them just sit or get trashed for parts.

I can use both!! I can then offer my 944 black seats free to someone here. Those came as an optional instal in one of my 928's and I'd prefer to have 928 seats in it.

I'm looking for the following:

1. Front spoiler
2. Tweeter cover
3. Spare tire
4. Center console (if it's black) - Possibly.
5. Glass/Plastic for light next to fog lights (right side)

I have an '86.5 and could really use the sliding plastic whatchamacallit that slides with the shift lever, including the thingamajigie that houses it and fits in the console at the shift lever. The sliding thing is scored and is attached to the lever and has P, R, N, D, etc in it and it fits into the plastic housing. Mine is cracked so I have it all off and the heat is sucked past the foam sealing form that sits in the tunnel and is supposed to repel the heat from the cats. I will be back with a part number and possible a photo of my pathetic parts for comparison.

Here are the part numbers:
928.424.101.01 "frame"
N 015.526.2 "securing clip"
