Hmmm...where does this go?
Aside from getting the car running, I have another goal of actually having a functioning air conditioner. I've replaced seals and cleaned the compressor. So now that I'm ready to put the compressor back in, I don't know where the silly red wire connects on the car.
Cliff notes: Where does the red wire on the compressor go?

That's the sending wire from the A/C controls. It plugs into a small wire that comes out of the side of the large wiring harness as it goes across the front of the engine. That's what was disconnected on mine causing the A/C not to function.

No key-turning tonight. Maybe Sunday, or more likely Monday. I still need to go buy all the coolant, oil and ATF fluid.

Hi Dave.
Yes. It should have a plastic connector protector. You have to slip the wire inside this and make sure to get a good full contact. I bet you compressor leaks! Sorry to tell you. It will work for awhile... Make sure to replace the drier and expansion valves as well.
Good luck.

Garrity:
Thanks for the quick response. If it leaks, well then it leaks. I think the previous leak was at/near the compressor, so I'm hoping it was just a blown seal. If not, it makes no difference. I went without AC for the last 4 years anyway. At least I'll know where it's coming from. I picked up a new drier on eBay that should be here in a few days.
Does the compressor itself normally leak? Or is it more common for the o-rings at the compressor connections to leak? Hell, should be no sweat to pull it apart and fix it now. Comparitively speaking, at least.
The expansion valve will have to wait until after SITM. R134 is cheap anyway.
