I totally see his point. It's just that without the feathers and lime juice, it goes down so hard ....

It doesn't make sense if you read it backwards either. It may be code.

Uh, I think I'm following you Normy (in a couple ways),

Um, back on topic wasn't Andy selling a couple twin screw kits a little bit ago? Man, makes me jealous that I've got a 16v LH-jet (no SC's for that yet!).

just so you guys know, that IS andy's ebay ID. I wouldn't be surprised if he was done with it... I don't think he anticipated all the bullsh*t involved with trying to sell a product like this. I don't even think he broke even (financially speaking). I'm sure we'll all know soon enough if he's finally done with it.

Regarding the casted manifolds... The only manifold I ever ran on my car was the casted one. No problems at all. 345rwhp no-IC and 4.9 0-60 times.

I have the cast ones also...what other versions were there, i never got any replies to what an "upgraded" manifold was? From what i can see in some pics it looks like 3 parts..top...middle(perimeter) then lower??

The top half on mine is a CHUNK of metal, very strong, just have to watch the threads and tqs.
The bottom half seems to me would have better been made from thick plates..cnc cut and then welded to form the lower box?
Then again, i only slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

Yeah, I was puzzled by the casting thing. My manifold was assembled from watercut parts and machined plate. I hope Andy will stick with it and is just selling of the castings he no longer uses.

Well, I still say that these engines are too high in compression to supercharge.

And the lime juice was flowing last night, yes. I'm a lightweight ok? As if you f*ckers haven't had your nights!

I will stand behind what I said before. If those are the castings that he is talking about then there is no way they can be manufactured for the prices quoted in the US. Material costs alone would exceed the pricing.

If Andy is getting out of the business and anyone is into this enough to buy the tooling I would extend a special Rennlist price for the castings. They would be more costly then mentioned but the quality would be unsurpassed. They can be made in Magnesium also if anyone is interested. It would weigh about 1/3rd of the aluminum weight and with proper heat treatment it would be just about as strong.

Tony do you know if the castings are painted, powder coated or anodized?

Has Andy been making a casting and then machining them on early style manifolds. then he switched to a CNC machined and welded manifold unit afterwards on later models?

Thats what some appear to be speculating...But I would imagine more than a few welds would be required on a CNC cut unit unless it was done from a rather large block of metal.
