SITM (brother can you spare a dime)

Is anybody going from the Kentucky/Ohio/Michigan area? I'm toying with the idea of bringing the twin turbo Goldmember and sticking a for sale sign in it. Of course, we could take up a gas funds collection and I can give demonstration rides to those interested.

Tony 05-15-2005 12:11 PM

Come on... your going to charge people gas to ride in your car?http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...ies/loser1.gif

IMHO, you should give away the rides...that way, when folks in a Twinscrew get a ride they wont be asking for there money back from you http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...lies/1poke.gif

Charging for a ride? Boooooo :grr:
I agree with Tony.

AO 05-15-2005 06:40 PM

Giving rides = marketing expense! Ok let's see. At $35 a pop to fill up, you can go 200 miles on one take - easily! Figure a 5 mille run to demonsterate Goldmember's capabilities; you can give rides to 40 people! That's a lot of CHEAP marketing for $35. Swallow the pill.

Hell- my car isn't for sale and I'll give give a few nitrous rides until the tank is empty (unless Dave knows where I can get a refill ).

BTW I'm from Michigan, and will be coming down Thursday night, staying somwhere enroute that night and doing the final 3-4 hours Friday morning.

just a heads up...
the local "law" ain't too keen on "hotroddin"

AO 05-15-2005 06:55 PM

I would never hotrod - per se . But thanks for the heads-up just the same. :bigbye:

I'm going...assuming my shark is still running! LOL

Big Dave 05-16-2005 11:23 AM

LOL @ charging for rides.

Brad...you planning on meeting up with Andrew and me? I know that there's a couple of Michigan guys that want to take Thursday off work and head out earlier in the day. Andrew and I will be meeting them somewhere late Thursday night so we can all head out together Friday morning.

AO 05-16-2005 11:30 AM

BTW, I think we decided that we will take the I75 route down to Knoxville, and then head east to avoid Virginia's finest. Probably be staying somewhere around Knoxville if we can make it that far.

Big Dave 05-16-2005 11:32 AM

How many miles is it from here to Knoxville?

EDIT...I looked it up myself....513 miles from Detroit to Knoxville.

Andrew...maybe we ought to leave early enough to make it there by midnight? Like around 4pm or so?

You gotta admit John, that WAS funny. I wish I was gonna be there, i would really like to see your car in person.

airosey 05-16-2005 12:43 PM

If all you guys head down here to Knoxville, I would like to follow you guys when you do head off to SITM. If that alright of coarse. I live about 45 minutes from knoxville, so I could just drive down before you leave. So far me and my wife plan on going, but thats not set in stone just yet.

checkmate1996 05-16-2005 01:51 PM

Dave,

I'm taking Friday off. I wanted to leave early in the morning. I would like to caravan somehow..

I will buy you a tank of gas if you post a dyno sheet for this car.
I and others have asked in the passed to no avail. I dont want to hear the "dyno isnt a true indication of performance" answer either.
If your selling it, which i believe you are, I assume it would be a selling point for a potential buyer.
Stick it on the windshield along with the forsale sign

(Discalaimer being unless its already been posted and I/we missed it.)
