nothing like a good resurection - even JC will enjoy this one, as long as you don't end up shouting his name too much during the process (although if you get his attention, he might come in handy)...
didn't mean to be negative about parts... in fact, since there are lots of OB parts cars around, it actually seems easier to find certian stuff for them than the later cars...
project cars/boats/planes/homes/etc can be quite fun when not under any particular deadline/at your leisure - although the ROI will vary significantly... just have fun w/it! if it's not fun after a while, there are lots of other broken things to resurect on planet earth, like my bank account and marriage after my 928 project is done...ha!

Good luck. I am going a similar route. My car cost $900 IIRC, and included the full workshop manuals. About a year into my resto/mod project I am finally at the paint stripping stage with the car completely gutted. So far I reckon I am $10k to $12k into the car already when you add up body kit, motor enhancements, new tools required etc.
I reckon another $20k to $30k after the body work, supercharger, suspension, brakes, wheels, tires etc.
This is NOT an investment. It is a very expensive hobby, but I hope to have a very unique, fast, car when I am finished. Some folks spend their money on boats, planes, maybe even drugs - for me it is the 928.
