Default Last Call *** Detroit Area Beer Night Tonight*** (05-12-05)

***Quick update. Rob Budd Will be showing off his 500hp 928! WOW!*** Don't miss this.

It's that time of the month, again.

Next Thursday (5-12-05), the local 928 owners will be having our monthly 928 get together here in the Detroit area - others are always welcome.

Location is the same as always @ the Four Green Fields Pub in the strip mall on the SW corner of 13 Mile & Woodward (right next to the Secretary of State's office) in Royal Oak, MI.

Things usually start around 6:30ish and go until whenever.

This will be a very interesting night as we will be having a special out-of-town visitor from Florida. You know him, you love him, so give it up for NORMY!

I will be demonstrating (hopefully) what a wet nitrous system does for the 928. We will also be planning a get-together for the following Saturday/Sunday possibly at the Beach Grill. Details will be discussed at the meeting.

Finally, we'll be getting status on BigDave's car. His goal was to have it up and running again by May's meeting. Will he make it? You'll have to come if you want to find out.

Remember we have these get togethers on the second Thursday of every month, so come on by.

I will also be cross posting on the other boards too. Hope to see you there.

I haven't gotten my intake/valve covers back from powder coating, and don't think I will until late next week.

I need to get that engine back in a.s.a.p. so I can have enough time to work out any kinks before SITM, so I may end up just dropping the engine in without the covers/intake installed.

Other than the rear main seal (which I have to do with the engine on the hoist, not on the stand), I'm done. I've got a few A/C seals to change, but that won't prevent me from getting back on the road.

Damn! I'm still in Italy, guys, but have a good time without me! I'd have loved to meet Normy, but alas...

Will you be giving "juiced rides" for the June meeting, Andrew? I'll be there for that!!

I am in Basilicata in southern Italy right now, and yesterday took a drive up to the Avellino area in Campania; man, what a thrill it would have been to make the drive in a 928 instead of a 90hp Lancia Ypsilon diesel! Nice car, but the roads here are so clear, twisty, and well maintained that I could have easily been doing 160mph instead of 160kph!!

The wine though, is ideal.

I didn't think you could put the covers on/take off with the engine in the car. I thought that was the main reason for puling the engine.

Perhaps, if the car is still alive. NJOY your wine. Life is good.

I'm pretty sure the covers and intake can go on with the engine in the car. It's the heads that can't be removed/installed with the engine in because of the head studs. Later cars use head bolts instead.

Do you guys have just 928s or is it an open P-car night? I'm thinking about trying to start one in Atlanta so any info would be great!

It started as a 928-specific thing, but we've got other P-car models that show up, too. A majority is still 928s, though.

Hoist one for me boys.......I FINALLY have my beast parked in the garage and the engine is on its way out. Torque tube is out, rack is coming out, radiator gets pulled tomorrow. Two years later.....and I finally got some work done.

Say hey to the crew for me Dave.

I'll be there. The LT4 is in and running good. Its got 29 miles on it so far.
I'll be bringing a set of 17" Cup 3 wheels (55mm offset) I need to get rid of. I hope someone has some cash($750) they want to part with.
