Fuel Injection System Cleaner (BG44K)
 

I bought this stuff but the folks didn't tell me that I needed a special BG44K set up (feeder) to use it. I emailed them back and asked if I could get by without it and here is what I got back. Which vacuum line should I use? P.S., This is not the gas additive.

Here is the information you will need.

Here are the step by step instructions for application of the fuel injection cleaner.

1- Get the engine up to operating temperature

2- Find a vacuum port on the engine that has manifold vacuum on it all the time. The vacuum port should be as close to the throttle body as possible.

3- Get a length of vacuum line that will fit tight over the vacuum fitting, approx 2 to 3 feet long.

4- Get a pair of vice grips or pliers so you can pinch the vacuum line off.

5- Put one end of the vacuum line on the vacuum fitting you found close to the throttle body and the other end in the open can of the fuel injector cleaner. Now take the pliers and pinch off the vacuum line.

6- Start the engine and let the engine idle. Slowly release the pliers so the engine starts to roughen up, but does not stall. Run the complete contents of the cleaner until it is gone. After the contents of the cleaner is finished shut the engine off and let it sit for approx 15 minutes.

7- After the sitting time put your car back to normal...vacuum lines ect ect. Start the engine up and keep it running until the engine idle is stable. Your engine may run rough for a little while. Now go for a good run on the freeway or higher rpm driving. That’s it; use the other products in the kit as per the directions on the cans.

NOTE... When you do this service make sure it is done in a well ventilated area.

How is that going to clean inside the injectors???

Uh, sounds like cylinder top/valve cleaner to me, too.

Snake oil. I tell you what, don't buy the product, then perform steps 1, and go directly to step 7. Drive it hard, and high RPM. Modern fuels have a detergent as part of the additive package. I can't for the life of me see how running some snake oil through the AIR SUPPLY, and not the fuel supply will do anything except clean your wallet.

Darien, go get a bottle of TECHRON and run it with appx 5-10 gallons of gas.

I dont what the #$%# they are talkign about in those instructions. A vaccum line on ANY car doesnt connect to a point that will flow a fluid to the INSIDE of an injector...as far as i know at least? Anyting that cleans them has to be done with in the fuel...or take them out and have them cleaned and flow matched.
Feeding fluid into a vac line?? Never heard of that one.

Im off the next 4 days BTW...name a time i can swing by.

:cheers: Anything else is a waste of $$. That I know of anyway.

Maybe meant to clean the idle stabilizer? Similar to the WD-40 into the intake line to the stabilizer trick to clean-up the idle. Just hammerdown and have some fun.
