In view of the excellent help and advice i've gained from these pages i think its only right i do my bit and become a member. Is the join via paypal option as easy as it looks? I'm assuming that all mydetails will be taken via paypal payment?

Yep. Very easy and you'll get your cards in a little over a week. Your username should work within a day.

I had a problem with the PayPal through the website so I just sent the PayPal payment direct to Jen's email address... but perhaps they fixed it...
