Which 928 should I sell?
I have 2 possible candidates, I need to sell one:
1985 US auto
84k miles
everything works
1-owner car
babied
interior like new
exterior excellent original paint, but one door has a removable dent and one fender was painted so-so
no other repaints ever done
very clean
salvage title, but I have photo records showing it was just a simple fender bolt-off and bolt-on
all-stock
rare colour, marble grey
1985 Euro auto
needs new passenger door (i have one in the right colour) because thieves tried to break the lock
needs new interior quarters
80k miles
runs strong
clear title
Which should I keep? Which should I sell? How much should I ask?

Ditch the Euro--> Its' Black
Its a grey market car
Interior quarters are bad
Its got funky seats
Its an auto
Its got a high compression engine
Its not so good for boost
Its got an extra timing belt
Its Black
Keep the 85 US-->Its a rare color
Its got great interior
Its got a salvage title
Its perfect for boost
Its not Black

Got any pics of that US Spec car? I might be interested in it, as my wife has started hinting that a 928 needs to be parked in the garage.

Scott your wife is a woman of vision. Hang onto her, and let me know if she has a sister .... I do have pics of the US car, I will post them.

Gotta say this choice is a no-brainer (with respect to Shane), but the U.S. '85 should go! Who cares about a rare color on a U.S. '85? I think that and half a buck still won't get you a cup of coffee. Now the '85 Euro, that's a rarity that might get you a cup of coffee.....

Glenn yes true but you know, despite the fact that the US car is like a new 928, a salvage title in some people's mind is a bad thing. I think because I have clear evidence on the damage and how it was repaired that is no problem, I'm just not sure. I do not like black cars and the Euro is oh-so black, with side mouldings too.

OK..to counter Shane
Ditch the 85 US..
it's white..no matter how you twist the color code
it has a buttgundy interior...color choice of the 80's
Its a low powered 32 valver with AT
it doesn't have S4 suspension and brakes
Its white with buttgundy interior...
Keep the 85 Euro
has desirable Black paint and interior
has desirable 16valve LH euro engine
has more power because it's black
Doesn't need steriods to shows its power....
It's a Euro damnit..!!!!!!
Did i mention that it's black

89GT in the desirable black/black combo.....

H,
Black is just a color and can be changed, probably easier than changing an interior. Colin is planning on painting his soon and I was thinking maybe its time to do mine at the same time. Come on up, maybe we can have a "painting party".

The US car may be hard to sell with the Salvage title, even if you have documentation. It all depends on what kind of money you need and think you can sell one for?
Put them both up for sale. Which ever one gets the most calls, keep (its a wanted comodity) and sell the other.
Either way, I always said I wanted my next car not to be red, guess what I bought...... and two of them at that.

Glenn thanks Dude, I may do that ... though repainting a Euro may decrease its coolness. This baby is original. Tom, you're kidding ... you mean there is a local who actually remembers and attributes one of my many ideas ... TO ME???!!!!

The question you have to ask yourself is how fast do you need to sell a car?
If you do not need to sell it ASAP,
I would put the 1985 US auto in the Autotrader ($49 runs until sells) for $7500 obo and wait. If people are scared off from the salvage title tell them about the Euro.
If you need to sell fast,
List the 85 Euro on Ebay and I would guess it would bring $6-7k
