I can tell you didn't drive the C4 - there is nothing roomy about a C4 Corvette. That was the main reason why I passed on a cherry Grand Sport two years ago selling for way under list price. 6-speed, 330hp LT4, 40k miles, two sets of wheels, headers.......sold for under $14k to a friend I passed the deal to. Now at Road America he blows by me like I'm standing still. Oh well, Mr.Murph is taking care of that problem.

No no no , don't do it. The value of a Euro 928 is going to be a lot greater than just another Corvette., especially when they become serious collectors items. Besides, keep a rare car like that in the hands of an enthusiast, not some kid who is going to trash it. My 2 cents.

The mid-80's Vettes were awful. I did like my 66 and the last few years seems like they finally hit a homerun after years of mediocrity.

I'm 6' 1" tall, my head hit the roof, no way I would ever fit with a helmet on (the point of buying this car was for track use). My friend is not much shorter, runs on the track with the roof panel off. So far he's been allowed to do so with no extra roll bar - his helmet sticks out above the windshield.

I hated those C4's!

A C5 is an entirely different story though, which I think is a better car than the 928, as well as being better looking than a 928, too .

A C6 is a better car yet, but I don't like it's styling so I won't be buying one anytime soon, not even the C6 Z06 which has 500hp and weighs just 3100 lbs.

I don't know if they're better cars, but IMHO they don't look nearly as sexy as a 928, especially S4+.

Don't worry Erik, as you age your height will no longer be a problem

The 66 Vette was the one car I truly regret selling. It was a 2-top, 327/350 small block 4-speed with leather, factory side exhaust and FIVE original K-H factory knock-off wheels. It was fun to bang them with the lead hammer before I went out for a ride. The wheels alone are worth more than my 89 S4. It was actually a real nice ride and those factory lakers made a huge noise. Hard to believe they sold them legally that way, and it was only a small block. Gone but never forgotten. I sold it and bought a MBZ 6.9 (actually 2 of them).

'Better' is arguable. Better looking than a 928? The cold is getting to ya man. It's gotcha talkin' nonsense.

Now in vert form I think the C5 is the best looking spyder on the road except maaaaybe the Modena. But in coupe form? The 928 has a nice rear end. The rear end of the C5 is an industrial design accident.

As for the C6 Z06 with a 500 hp dry sump motor as far as I'm concerned it could look like a Gremlin and I wouldn't care.

On the C4 side of things I've never driven one. CarChick went 'round the Pocono road course/half-bowel configuration in a ZR-1. She thought it was 'nice.' Then she took the same trip in DL's Green Monster 928 Track Car. She thought it was awesome!
