Motor Boring Opportunity?
I have a source that should be boring & honing a '85/'86 block to 104mm very soon. I asked whether there would be an interest in boring & honing more motors at the same time, and the response was very positive.
So, is there anyone out there that would be interested in having a motor bored & honed for 104mm (968 pistons)? If so, please email and advise whether you have a block available, and also if you have a budget to do so at this time.
I would also be interested in hearing from anyone that has extra '85/'86 blocks for ths project.
Also, if anyone can provide a cost estimate of the value of this work, it would be appreciated. My deal is special, as the source is a friend, and also a customer.
Thanks!

I paid $150 a hole ($1200). I've heard as low as $900.

You can bore the factory 5.0L block to 104mm, but not the 4.5 or 4.7 block.
Some 5.0L blocks are on the edge due to core shift that produces to thin of a wall after boring.
Some say it's not an issue, right Adam

Yoakim,
I provided the manual on the procedure to bore & hone the block. So the process will be performed as per the documentation available.
Tarek,
As JV stated, I don't think you can use a pre '85 block. I have also heard a '85/'86 block is better suited than a later block, but perhaps an '87 block could be used. I don't know whether you would want to go through the expense of sending it in, and finding out it wasn't viable.
