Update on "floating" problem
I posted a few days ago about my 88 S4 feeling like it's "floating" during acceleration and breaking. I took it into the shop today and it turned out to be the passenger side rear bushings are about GONE causing the wheel to move around........I guess I am lucky the wheel didn't fall off? LOL Also getting the trans fluid changed and a 4 wheel alignment.
Well, she's being fixed and will be back on the road in a few days time!

Lucky indeed.
I had a problem that my car wanted to float and turn more whenever I wasn't driving straight. It was like the rear wanted to bounce out with a rather floaty sensation. Turned out it was my diff mounts. It was quite weird to drive it like that I must say.
Now that I replaced them the car feels great and it puts down its power like a good 928S should.

CAREFUL on the alignment. LOTS of stuff here about it. Do a search.
1 - DO NOT let them lift the car
2 - DO NOT let them lift the car
3 - DO NOT let them lift the car
4 - Look for a Hunter DSP-400 alignment machine.
